One minute... one minute will tell if this is going to work or not Harry thought to himself. He didn't expect Draco to meet him, yet he still had a glimmer of hope that the blond would come, just so that Harry could explain what had really happened. The last thing he needed was for Malfoy to think that he had wanted him to fall for himself. He didn't even want Malfoy to think it was his idea in the first place, even though it was. Harry paced back and fourth, taking 7 steps before reaching the edge of the balcony and turning around to take 7 more.

When the clock struck exactly midnight the door slowly squeaked open. The creaking sounded a lot louder than it really was given the boys nerves were on fire, but Harry, being the good little Gryffindor he was, was worried nonetheless that they would be caught. Slowly Malfoy peeked his head around the door taking a quick scan of the room, before fully emerging. He wore black robes that blended in with the dark surroundings, making only his pale face and platinum blond hair stand out.

"You wanted to talk to me Potter?" He said. However his voice wasn't full of malice and hate like it usually was, it sounded monotone, as if he wasn't fully aware of his situation.

"I just wanted to explain myself" Harry said. His palms started to sweat, and his heart raced in his chest. Harry opened his mouth, then closed it, perplexed with how his body was reacting. Harry couldn't stand Malfoy, so why his heart was fluttering at the speed of a humming birds wings was beyond him.

"I... I had never meant for the potion to make you like me. It was supposed to have Goyle's hairs in it, but Her.. erm I mean there was a mistake, I don't know how it happened, but somehow my hair had gotten into the potion. I swear on my firebolt that I had not planned for that to happen. But that's not all. According to Her- the book that I was reading, this one apparently brings soulmates together and brings out sexualities. So if you start to feel anything for guys just know that that is a side effect." Harry said, red in the face. He almost told Malfoy that Hermione had sabotaged the potion but thought better of it. He knew that Malfoy despised anyone who was muggle born and thought it best if he didn't give the Slytherin a reason to hate his friends any more than he already did. Malfoy looked unconvinced. His eyes suddenly got large and his face turned sour.

"You heard. You heard what happened the day you had detention with Snape, didn't you?" Malfoy accused. He took a step towards Harry, pointing his thin finger at the dark haired boy. "You knew I was trying to do the exact same thing to you. You thought you would be slick and have my own idea backfire didn't you Potter? I should have known that you would try to pull something on me. And I bet you had planned for the potion to make me fall for you. I bet you and your stupid Gryffindorks had a good hearty laugh knowing that I was fawning over "The boy who lived." You may think your better than me just because you defeated You Know Who when you were a baby, but just remember this Potter, I will get you back and believe me, you're going to regret ever making me fall involuntarily in love with your stupidly perfect green ey-" Malfoy stopped mid word. His face turned a deep shade of red Harry had never even seen before.

Did Malfoy just tell him his eyes were perfect? Before Harry could even respond, Malfoy had fled the astronomy tower.

Harry stood there reflecting on what Malfoy had said. He completely missed the part where Draco had mentioned his eyes focusing on his revenge instead. He didn't believe that Malfoy would have the guts to pull out a prank better than Harrys while at school, especially since Harrys almost got him three weeks worth of detentions, after a lower class Slytherin student told another teacher that they had seen the trio come out of the bathroom where the potion had brewed. Had it not been for Hermione, who told Professor Snape that Harry had only made the potion to increase his dreadful potion making skills, and hadn't planned for anyone to give the bottle away, he was sure he would have been spending his weekends scrubbing cauldrons. She said the only reason they even had the vial in the first place was to give to Snape to evaluate. It was not like the love book was a restricted one, so they couldn't have possibly have gotten trouble for having it. Even still Snape was still suspicious of Harry and kept a closer watch on him whenever they happened to pass in the Great Hall, or in the corridors.
