(Nikko POV)

I tightened my hold around Zurie as the strange light engulfed our bodies as the feeling of weightlessness flowed around us.  The brilliant tiny lights fluttered around us leaving streaks light in their wake. The fluttering lights started to slow as the light faded one by one.  As each lovely light pulled away, a new piece of vision around of us came into light. The final pieces of the tiny wall of light floated away as my eyes latched on to the beauty around us.   It was the oddest place, we were on some type of island. I lifted my head up and looked up in to the brilliant sky, but although it  look like a  cloudless day it had a  doom light effect to it.  My gaze dropped as I looked off into the distance to take in the rest of our surroundings. There was no horizon, the sky just dropped in the vibrant blue water.  This almost felt like we inside of a snow globe. We stood in the middle of a tiny island but I’m not sure if you can call it that since it was only the size of a baseball diamond. Everything was so vivid and colorful it look like something out of Alice in wonderland.  My arms slide down Zurie’s shoulders as I took a step back from her and slowly turned in a circle.  There was a slight warm breeze blowing as tiny flower floated down upon us from the large cherry blossom tree that dominated the corner of the island.  The lush long green grass was scattered with tiny white flowers swayed back and forth adding to the enchanting atmosphere of the island.

Zuire’s slide her soft small hand into mine as we laced our fingers together. I looked down at her and she smiled sweetly at me as she pulled me in the direction of the tree. As we neared the tree a dozen of fire flies came to life and floated in front of the tree in fast whirl wind of activity.  Then out of nowhere a large round futon type bed appeared that was covered in dozens of plush fluffy pillows.

I let go of Zurie’s hand and took a step back from the bed , “where are we?’

“This is my private get away,” she said as walked over and plopped herself down on the futon.

I followed her over to the bed and sat down next her as I stretch out my legs. A let out a small chuckle when I notice she had put my jeans back on. “Your, something else Sweets,” I said as I reached out and touch her hand. She smiled sadly at me, “what is the matter?” I asked.

A lone tear fell down her face as her lip quivered, “please don’t reject me.”

I sat up straight because I was in shock. Never had I heard my confident, outgoing, happy mate sound so broken before and I didn’t like it.  With a little growl I snatched her into my arms and sat her in my lap. “You little idiot. Why would you think I would do something so stupid?”

She sniffled and kept her head down, “because I’m annoying and bossy. No, one likes me.  I only have one friend and she is my guardian.  When Poppy my guardian said I was be your protector. I went a little bonkers. I finally had someone to play with, laugh with and do all those crazy things I wanted to do as a kid.”

I kissed her head and rubbed her back in soothing circles. Her little confession said a lot about Zurie, she did act a little crazy sometimes but I guess I would too if I as always alone. “It’s ok Sweets, I would never reject my mate. I have seen what something like does to a person, plus I always did like Cotton Candy and Green Apples.”

“Cotton Candy and Green Apples,” she repeated as she tipped her head back to look up at me.

I place a tender kiss against her lips and said,”yummmm, not only do you smell like it, you even taste like it.”
