"UGH!!!!" Niklaus Mikaelson grabbed a vase and, in his rage, threw it against the wall, watching it shatter into a thousand pieces.

"Niklaus, calm down, you mustn't---" Elijah tried to soothe his brother, but the untriggered hybrid whipped around and glared harshly at him.

"I will not calm down, Elijah!" Klaus roared. "We are running out of time! The full moon is tonight and thanks to those pesky newcomers, we have not made any progress with the doppelganger at all!!" He grabbed another vase and threw it into the wall with the first.

Elijah watched Klaus' tantrum. He stood there for a few minutes, allowing his brother the luxury of releasing his temper. When everything was in tatters around the untriggered hybrid, Elijah stepped toward him and placed a calm hand on Klaus' shoulder. "If I may, Niklaus, I believe I have an idea on how to effectively bring Katerina's attention back to us," he told him.

Interest piqued at the possibility of gaining the doppelganger's trust in time for the ritual, Klaus looked back at his older brother. "What is it that you have in mind?" He inquired.

"He looks happy," Elena told Stefan as they both watched Damon. He was humming, something that he never did unless he was very happy, like now.

"I think he got back together with Katherine," Stefan replied to his girlfriend as he watched his brother.

"I can hear you two talk about me, thank you very much," Damon said as he straightened his outfit. "And just so you know, baby bro, we have not gotten back together yet. But we will soon. Oh, and stop calling her Katherine; in this time period, her name is Katerina." He informed as he looked at himself again and deemed himself presentable before walking toward the entrance of his and his brother's bed chamber.

"Where are you going?" Elena called out.

"To go see Katerina," Damon called back as he shut the door to look for his bubbly brunette.

He didn't have to look very far. Spotting her outside in the gardens, Damon smiled and walked over to her. "I had a good feeling that you'd be out here," He said, stopping to stand right in her line of vision.

"Damon!" Katerina smiled happily when she saw him.

Damon smiled warmly at the brunette as he sat next to her. "How are you today, Katerina?" He asked.

Katerina smiled at him. He was always so considerate, asking her how she was. He truly was unlike any man she ever knew. "Oh, I am wonderful, Damon. I was just observing nature. It truly is beautiful. What about you, Damon? Is nature not the most truly beautiful thing you have ever seen?" She queried, looking at him.

"It's pretty, but..." Damon pulled her face toward him. "You're the most beautiful I have ever seen."

Katerina stared at him, her breath catching slightly in her throat as a warm feeling spread through her body at his words. "Damon," She breathed.

"You know, I heard someone say once that only true love's first kiss could bring someone true happiness," Damon murmured, their lips now only a breath away.

"Do you believe that?" Katerina asked, her eyes flickering to Damon's lips before going up to meet the beautiful blue eyes that reminded her so much of ice.

"Before you, never," And then their lips met in quite possibly the most passionate kiss of both of their lives. Their lips moved in sync with one another, both moaning softly as they basked in the love that ran through them. When they pulled away from each other for air, Damon gently cupped her face in his hands.

"I love you, Katerina Petrova," Damon sincerely told her, staring into her chocolate eyes.

"I love you too, Damon Salvatore," Katerina replied.

Damon smiled and kissed her again before they settled into a loving embrace, knowing for sure that what they had was true love and nothing less than that.
