After Allison died it was hard for Lydia to make another friend that she was close to, sure there was Kira but she was obsessed with Scott and Malia was... well Malia was Malia and there was only so much of her that she can handle at one point. Scott and Stiles were a big fat no so she would mostly hang out by herself and read a good book or watch The Notebook.
It was night, Scott and Stiles were helping Malia control her powers and Kira was learning everything she could about being a kitsune, Lydia was sitting on her bed reading when she heard several cars pull up to the house across the street, she looked out the window and saw four cars and two moving vans.
People were getting out of the cars, Lydia couldn't count all the people that were there, there were so many. There were about six adults and a lot of kids. The kids were running around the yard playing until one of the adults told them to help with the moving. They were so loud, sometimes Lydia wished she could have a big family like that but at the same time she's grateful that she is an only child so that they don't get sucked into the world of werewolves and murder.
She kept looking at the family until she saw a teenager, she had short black hair that reached her shoulders, from what Lydia could see it looked curly. The girl was carrying boxes and stepping around the little kids that seemed to pop out of nowhere, after she put them near the front door she went back for more boxes, the girl stopped and looked around then looked at Lydia's window. Lydia didn't know what to do, she was caught staring, but all the girl did was smile and wave at Lydia. Lydia waved back and the girl went back to unloading boxes.
Lydia slipped on some shoes and went downstairs to find her mom pulling on some shoes also.
"You going to introduce yourself to the new family?" asked Lydia.
"Yup, I was kind of spying on them," Ms. Martin said.
"Don't worry mom me to, but did you see how many people there were?"
"Yes! It was crazy."
They walk out the door and across the street, Ms. Martin goes up to a middle aged woman and starts to introduce her and Lydia.
"Hello, my name is Natalie Martin and the is my daughter Lydia."
"Oh! Hello! I didn't expect anyone to come over, I'm sorry for the mess," she gestures to the lawn that covered in boxes and kids hitting each other. "Oi! Adrian! Basil! How many times do I have to tell you to stop and help with the boxes?"
The little boys stopped wrestling and stood up why looking at the ground looking like kicked puppies.
"Sorry mama," the little boys said.
"Just help get the rest of the boxes in or no tiganites tomorrow for breakfast," she said
"Wait, were having tiganites for breakfast?" the boys asked at the same time, to be honest it weirded the Martins out a little.
"You won't if you don't help," she said with a stern face. Both boys got up and ran to the van and help with boxes. "I'm sorry about that, kids are so rowdy, especially mine. I think the gods like to test my patients and see when I will crack. Oh, where are my manners my name is Celena," Celena said while holding her hand out. They both shook her hand but when Lydia shook her hand she felt this power rush into her, it was light and nice.
"Welcome to Beacon Hills, what brings you here?" Ms. Martin asked.
"Well... My daughter has had a rough time in school, and a lot or her brothers and sisters and cousins were getting bullied so we decided to move. Its hard finding a place with such a good sports program but also a good education program as well. You see most of the children has dyslexia, and its a little tough finding people patient enough to help them. They also had ADHD and can be tornadoes when they come home so when they were old enough we stuck them in sports and they all love it, my daughter was on her lacrosse team back in our old town, and shes really good." Celena explained.
"Well your in luck I'm actually a teacher at the high school and I know Lydia wouldn't mind help out with some tutoring, she's at the top of her class," Ms. Martin says.
Celena's smile grew.
"You would really do that for somebody that just moved here?"
"I think we are going to be great friends if you want," Ms. Martin said, Lydia looked at her, why was her mom being so nice, but at the same time Lydia wanted to be connected to this family to, they looked so happy and looked like a real family. It was something that Lydia had wished for, she had the pack but the vibes and energy from this family were different, it wasn't a heavy and dark energy she was used to, it was light and happy.
"I would like that very much, how about tomorrow morning you come back and we can introduce the rest of the family and eat a big breakfast," Celena said with a big smile.
"We would love that very much, see you then," Lydia says with an equally as big smile and turned with her mom and headed to the house.
"I think we finally found some really good people Lydia," Ms. Martin said with a small smile.
"Yeah we did mom," Lydia hugged her mom and went up to her room. She looked out to see the teenage girl again outside talking to Celena, Celena pointed to the Martin house and the teenage girl looked back to Lydia's window and waved with a big smile and Lydia waved back with a smile of her own. The teenage girl looked back at her mom and gave her a big hug until the hug was interrupted by a pile of little kids, Lydia closed her curtains with a small laugh and looked at her clock, it was getting pretty late and she couldn't wait till tomorrow morning to be with that warm and happy energy that seemed to radiate from the family.
