The awkward silence wasn't quite unexpected. I mean, Chrissa did just tell everyone that she betrayed the group for some grass she could get anywhere.
Matt: Nick, you wouldn't mind helping me out with food would you?
Nick: Of course not
As Nick enters the kitchen with Matt, everyone's head's dart onto Chrissa.
Miley: Did you not hear what we said? You wasn't supposed to talk to him-
Joe: He did things behind our back Chris... he needs to learn.
Miley: No- he needs to go away. I'm so sick of him, he's not even the same person anymore. Look what he's done to you.
Chrissa instantly stood up.
Chrissa: I haven't even smoked it yet guys, we didn't even get any. He's ass of a friend let us down. And I'm grateful for it to be honest. After seeing you, I regret ever asking, I was just stressed with studying for this theory test and Nick advised it as it would take the edge off.
Matt enters the room, just catching the last of Chrissa's alibi.
Matt: I told you Chrissa, I don't mind driving you around.
Celena: Please can you tell him to leave Matty? He'll listen to you. I don't trust him being around, he's probably listening in right now, reporting back to the spies.
Matt: He's already gone Cel, out the back. I told him to come by tomorrow.
Miley: Just so you're all aware now, I'm busy tomorrow, avoiding you all. First we hate Nick, now you're arranging to meet him?
Joe: Matt isn't here tomorrow Miley, he won't be home, nobody will.
Matt: I have that festival thing with Chrissa and you tomorrow. Can't believe you've forgotten the day before.
Miley: For god sake Matty, I need an emergency shop! Come on Chrissa babe, grab your things.
As Matt, Miley and Chrissa suddenly leave, Joe and Celena are abandoned in Matty's house.
Joe: What kind friends...
Celena: How comes you aren't going to the festival?
Joe: Ah, I have my first shift tomorrow, don't want to miss that. What's your excuse?
Celena: Festivals aren't exactly my thing J. Especially what they're seeing, some kind of hippie band knowing Matt.
Joe: The Smiths.
Celena: Decent, but still not my scene.
Time passed and Celena's parent began their daily rounds of blowing up Celena's phone. Getting up to leave, Joe took her hand.
Joe: Parents suck, I get it, but if you ever need a place to crash, my parents would be totally cool with it.
Thanking Joe behind her, Celena left to take a slow walk back to her house. Oh, the hell of a family she had to live with. She was the only child, therefore attracting all the attention from her parents, she was as if, under their microscope.
As she entered the driveway, the sounds of screaming and shouting were spoiling out of the house, you wouldn't believe the walls were made of brick, more like sheets of paper. She unlocked the door and entered her room, slamming herself up behind it, and drooling down onto the floor. She was "home".
