Chapter 1

Ayan's POV

"Sarah, hurry up! It's the first day and you're alread late!" I whined to Sarah who was my roommate and best friend.
It was our first day of magic school and I couldn't wait to practise our powers! It was quite difficult to sneeze and then jelly beans or gumballs came out or Sarah constantly freezing things by accident.

"Okay, okay." She came downstairs wearing a Panic! shirt and skinny jeans with black converse. While I just wore a Fall Out Boy sweater and skinny jeans with red converse.

We biked to school stopping by Starbucks cause of my constant whining and finally arrived at school... 10 minutes late.

"Ah hem." The teacher cleared his throat. "Why are you two so late?"

"I-I um... We..." I stuttered looking at Sarah for help.

"What she meant to say was that we woke up late and traffic was heavy. I'm sorry sir, we'll wake up earlier from now on." The teacher nodded his head and most jones for us to sit. There were four tables pushed together and two of them were empty next to a boy with black hair and a guy with pink hair.

"Hello hello!" The boy with pink hair spoke up. "My name is Natsu."

"Oh, my name is Ayan." I smiled and looked at Sarah, who was too busy staring at the boy next to her. "And this is Sarah." I subtly tapped her and she snapped out her gaze.

"I'm Gray." The guy with black said.

The teacher started lessons and taught us about different magical items. I stated at my bracelet that my mother got me and it can use all magic that's absorbed. I have all of them except for shadow which is illegal. Sarah had an emerald necklace that made her more powerful. The bell rang and Natsu groaned loudly making me giggle. He blushed lightly and Sarah pulled me up by the arm.

"So, what should we do fro break then?" She asked me.

"... We can-" She cut me off.

"No we are not reading horror books again!" I pouted.

"You guys can hang out with us." Natsu said, stepping a little closer to me.

"Yeah, come with!" Grey cheerfully said.

"Sarah?" I asked expectantly.

"Fine fine." I squealed knowing we already made friends. Natsu led us to this cheery blossom tree by the school were a few other kids were gathered and a... Flying cat apparently. The all greeted us and the cats name was Happy and the two girls were Mirajane and Erza. I was hugging Happy and Sarah and Grey were talking. Apparently we all bad a lot lee in common.

"I like your sweater, Ayan." Natsu came and sat next to me.

"T-thanks." I looked down twiddling my thumbs. I don't know why he made met nervous, but he made me nervous.

"Yeah, I listen to FOB. What's your favourite song?"

"Um... Of All The Gin Joints or Sugar We're Going Down."

"Cool! Mine is Sugar Were Going Down. Listen to any dubstep?" He asked and
my heart skipped a beat.

"Yeees! I love Skrillex and Savant! Favourite songs?"

"The Beginning Is Near and Rock and Roll Will Take You To The Mountain."

"Same." I stared into his deep eyes and I was thinking how he had so much in common. I shook my head an pit my fingers in my temples. But I don't believe in fate.

"Um... Ayan? The bell rang a while ago. Lets go." Sarah said. Everyone was looking at me and I got up blushing.

The next classes were boring but at least I had almost every class with Sarah. Except for art. I took art with Natsu an today we were doing a line project. He came as say next to me when class started.

"Hello. We meet again." He said, smiling.

"Indeed we have." I sad smiling back. I stared up at the ceiling think about what Sarah was doing.

Sarah's POV

My heart beat faster as Ayan introduced me to Grey who was intensely staring at me they had just invited us to their hang out and I was still a bit out of it. Grey came and sat next to me next to the cherry blossom tree and my face felt hot.

"Hi." He said with that smooth voice of his.

"Hi." I barely said back.

"What are you doing?"

"Messing with cherry blossom petals. What are you doing?"

"Trying to talk to you. I like your necklace." As soon as he said it a pang went through my heart and I grimaced. He must've noticed. "Oh, I'm sorry."

"It's okay. My mother gave it to me and its kinda like a power up." I looked at Ayan and tried to change the subject. "Looks like Ayan and Natsu and have grown close."

Grey chuckled. "Yeah, they have. I think he really likes her."

"And I think she really likes him." My heart skipped a beat as if I had just confessed to him and I tried to swallow the lump in my throat.

"So what brings you guys to suddenly transfer?" Grey asked.

"Our parents suddenly moved. Ayan is my step sister and our parents married. So we practically grew up together. But we live in a desperate apartment since we're a bit far from school." The bell rung and I exhaled. Ayan was dazed off so I grabbed her arm.

We went our separate ways and I realised I had class with Grey. Alone.

Great. *sarcasm*

I'm sorry if its a bit short. ;-; I really suck at first chapters. But yay for character development!
