You cut a wire off the main console of The Core.

"Quickly, Y/N. He's coming." Flowey whispered from the door.

"I'm just cutting off random wires so I won't take long" You whispered back.

"Y/N?!" He called. Hearing him call your name, you quickly stood up and ran towards the door, peeking out. Your heart and soul both tightened in fear as he spotted you.

"Y/N! I'm not going to hurt you anymore! Just... Come here. I know you understand." He said softly.

You shook your head, running back to the main console. You started trembling.

"Come here. It was just for the future of the monsters. So we could get out of here. You want that, don't you?"

You pushed your self to a corner as he came closer.

"P-please... Get away from me." You growled the word away.

"Y/N--"

"I SAID, GET AWAY!" You screamed, holding up a hand in front of you. He seemed to ignore your demand.

"Y/N... Every thing is going to be fine now. We are going back home, and you---"

"NO!" You felt rage and hate overlap your discernment. You felt the artificial magic he had injected into your soul burst, and travel quickly to your fingertips. You made a grabbing motion in the air and swung your hand hard towards the left. Gaster came flying towards the main console.

"AH!" He let out a mighty scream as he hit the console. "I-it worked! You can conjure magic!" He exclaimed.

But you were far from over. You summoned your new fire magic, and sent them rocketing towards him.

"Y/N, stop your magic! If you hit anything in here, the core could--"

"I COULD CARE LESS!" You shouted, as you continued attacking.

He blocked your attacks with the top part of a Gaster Blaster.

"Control yourself, child!" He darted towards the machines of the core. (A/N: lol sorry for poor choice of words)

"YOU DID THIS TO ME, AND YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT CONTROLLING MYSELF?!" You screamed. You aimed for him, and he dodged, resulting in a blown machine.

You narrowed your eyes at him as the alarms went ringing very abnormally loudly. His eyes widened as he scrambled over to the main console.

"Dr. Gaster! The core!" A few voices shouted from outside the room.

Remembering you were still in the lab, you started running out, picking up Flowey's pot in the process.

"I know!" Gaster said in a calm panic. "You come in here and help me!"

"COMING!" Gaster's assistants went running. You bumped into one of them.

"Y/N! Go, quick!" Katrina, the armless monster, pushed you farther away from the room.

Just then, a fourteen year old Sans came running in, wearing a lab coat.

"y/n!" He said your name, then grabbed your free hand and pulled you up and out the lab. Though enjoying his grasp, you realized something.

"Let go of me!" You pulled your hand away, fuming.

"what's wrong, butterfly?" He asked. Though the nickname usually woke up the-ehem- butterflies in your stomach, it didn't this time.

"What's wrong?!" You shouted at him, eyes brimming with tears. "I thought we were best friends, Sans! But you just stood there and did nothing while I was being turned into a... a... a lab rat!"

Sans' eye sockets were filled with guilt as he saw tears streaming down your cheeks. He opened his mouth to say something, but closed it again.

"If the core explodes, your dad will get what bad guys deserve! He deserves to DIE!" You shouted again, then ran towards the direction of the barrier.

"y/n!" He shouted, rushing after you.

You didn't stop despite him calling your name.

As you approached Asgore, you told him you were leaving. He muttered something. Something about your friendship with Sans being the "hope of the monsters" after Chara and Asriel. You saw Flowey look away, annoyed, and you knew exactly why.

"Human. You cannot leave so soon." He said, and you narrowed your eyes.

"Who are you to tell me what to do?"

"I am the king." He sighed. "But I suppose I cannot stop you now, can I?"

"No. Let me pass." You said, your voice too bossy for a ten year old like you. He quickly moved over.

"It was nice meeting you, Y/N." He seemed to understand that you can't break the barrier, but was leaving you to find out for yourself. But what he didn't understand was you weren't even considering breaking it.

You walked past him.

"Child." He said. You knew it was the king talking to you, but you ignored him.

"Are you sacrificing that monster's soul?" He asked, pointing at Flowey, who scoffed, most likely because he was literally soulless.

"He is my friend." You answered. "I will never." Flowey scoffed again.

"Then, how--"

You didn't even let him finish. You ran through the remaining space in between you and the barrier. You then closed that space, pushing at it.

You got through to the other side, but Flowey was left inside.

"Flowey!" You screamed.

"Just go!" He prodded you on with a shake of his petals. You nodded, running down the mountain.
