Chapter 2:~ You can't change a monster!

Monday 

Today I have religious class up first. Me, Tina and Casey were walking down the crowded hallways full of students trying to get to their classes. We were all in the same class in the first period. When we reached class we sat down at our desks and took out our books that we had to study for home work a week ago. 

Mr Anderson: "Welcome back everyone.. raise your hand, who studied their home work?" He smiled. 

Me, Tina and Casey were the only 3 girls to put up our hands. Everyone else stared at us and laughed. 

Boy student: "Losers!" He laughs. 

Mr Anderson: "Quiet down, these three girls are going to get better marks on their tests than everyone else in this class". He laughs. 

The class turned silent after Mr Anderson said that because they knew that he was saying the absolute truth. 

*SLAM* 

The classroom door was slammed opened, there Ethan Dolan entered the classroom. His dramatic entrance, typical. 

Ethan: "Sorry sir" He chuckles. 

Mr Anderson: "Detention after class Mr Dolan, nobody enters a classroom like that. Especially if it's a religious classroom. Don't mess with me". 

Ethan: "Do whatever you want sir I don't care". He chuckles as he puts both of his feet on the desk. 

I was a little disgusted at Ethan's disrespectful behavior towards Mr Anderson. Mr Anderson is my favorite teacher in the world and I love my religious. I hope Ethan doesn't ruin this class for me. 

Mr Anderson: "Ethan's transferred from engineering class to this class, So please everyone make him feel welcome". Mr Anderson was eyeing Ethan out, a lot. 

Ethan was Mr Anderson's enemy.. 

Ethan had sat by himself at the back of the class, He slept there and didn't listen to any part of the lesson. 

I just kept staring back at him, doing nothing but whistling to himself.

Lunch 1 

Casey: "Guys my Dad is leaving me with the house tonight. You guys wanna come sleep over? We can stay up all night and do fun things". 

Tina: "Are you sure? The last time you said that we actually came over and we found your Dad sleeping in the bathroom". She laughs. 

"Hahahahaha" 

Casey: "This time i'm being serious. He told me he's going to be over his friends house". 

Me: "Okay then, sure" 

Tina: "Yeah I'm coming" 

I saw Ethan sitting with his brother. He wasn't eating anything, Grayson was trying to get Ethan's attention. Waving his hand over his eyes, nothing happened. 

Grayson: "Bro? Talk to me". 

Ethan was shaking, he was rubbing his head. His face was turning red, then purple-ish. Ethan got out of his chair and pushed away from him, He rushed at of the cafeteria leaving everyone staring at him. Grayson looked down scratching his head I think he was embarrassed. 

Casey: "What's with Ethan lately?" 

Me: "I don't know but I'm gonna find out. I'll be right back girls". 

Everyone stopped staring and went back to talking to each other. I walked over to Grayson who was sitting with his head down in embarrassment and sadness for his brother. I sat in front of him and tapped him on the shoulder. 

Me: "Grayson? Is Ethan okay?" 

Grayson: "No.. He's never been okay since our mom died. I think he's never going to be okay" 

Me: "Would you like me to help?" 

Grayson: "Adele you can try but if he's not going to talk to his own brother what makes you think he's going to talk to you?" 

Me: "Okay I just want to try. I've dealt with depressed people, trust me". 

Grayson shrugged his shoulders. I got up from my chair and went to find Ethan. 

I walked down the hallway and found punch marks in the lockers. It was a trail to the school's theater room.  I brushed my fingers on the marks of the lockers, they were deep. 

I walked inside the theater room and it was kind of dark but I saw the stage lights on. At the bottom of the theater I saw Ethan sitting on the front row seats. 

Me: "Ethan?" 

I walked down the stair way and walked towards Ethan. He had his head in his hands, his body was shaking like before. 

Ethan: "What.. do you want?" He said in his dark voice. 

I tried grabbing his hand but he pulled his hand right back. 

Me: "I want to help you". 

Ethan: "Nothing you can do is going to help me". He looked up at me in tears. 

Ethan: "Look at me. I'm a monster.. You can't change a monster". 

Ethan left me and ran out of the theater room. I was calm. 

I walked out of the theater room and my friends rushed to me and hugged me. 

Tina: "Where the hell were you?" 

Casey: "Yeah we were looking for you". 

Tina: "Yeah but we saw gorilla boy race out of here". She laughs. 

Me: "Ethan? Where did he go?" 

Casey: "Ohh he ran out of the school and left".
