A New Beginning

I was pacing back and forth, she's been gone for at least 5 hours. It was getting dark and I got even more worried.

"Where is she" I said looking at Steven.

He shrugged, "I don't know, last time I saw her she was with her childhood friend"

It was probably him, he probably took her.

I then felt two hands on my shoulder and I flinched, "do not touch me!" I sneered pushing the hands away from me.

"Avianna please calm down" Edwin pleaded.

My blood started to boil and turned around giving him a glare, "Do not tell me to calm down! My daughter is missing and she's probably somewhere out there" I stopped trying to calm myself down.

"She'll show up" he assures me wrapping his arms around my frame. I start to struggle in his arms. I pushed him away from and ran out of the house heading towards the park where Steven last saw her.

Once I got there the park was empty no sign of anyone.

"Evanna!" I screamed as loud as I can but received nothing In response.

I tried again and again and nothing. I screamed falling down on my knees. My baby is gone and I'll probably never see her again. Who would want to take her. Why would they want to take her.

"Are you Evanna's mother" a voice said and I instantly looked up seeing a boy around her age.

"Yes" I wipe my tears standing up, "who are you?"

"Xavier"

My eyes widen and I then felt angry towards him.

"Where is my daughter" I yelled pushing him.

"I don't know" he whispers looking down at his hands which contained a hat.

"She just vanished" he finally met my eyes and I saw pain in them.

"What do you mean she just vanished?" I asked trying to keep my voice steady.

"She went to the restroom and she never came back" he said looking down.

Just then my legs gave up on me and I fell on the ground not able to breathe. She's gone and I'm never going to see her again. Tears started to stream down my cheek and I felt my throat tighten making it hard to breathe.

"Ms. K" Xavier said in alert and came to my side wrapping his arms around me. I held on to his arm tightly trying to gain my breath.

"In and out Mr. K" he instructed, "in and out" he repeated his hold becoming even tighter

I did what I was told and took a deep breath in and let it out I started to breathe normally and my hold on his arm loosen.

"We'll find her" he whispered hope in his voice.

"We will" I agreed.

I finally stood up wiping away my tears and we both went to the police station not wanting to waste anytime.

"Sorry ma'am but 24 hours have to pass for us to search for your daughter" the office informed me and I felt Xavier stiffen.

"That's ridiculous!" I screamed standing up and Xavier stood up trying to calm me down.

"She's probably out with friends" the office said moving papers around his desk.

I laughed, "she doesn't have any friends here, we just came and visited today" I explained calmly.
