hey there readers..( the few i have) :) hehe here is chapter 2 i hope you enjoy it :)

Destiny

Dear Diary,

Almost everything in my life has been planned. My 1st day of preschool was the first of many times that my parents decided what was best for me. Now 18, 000 miles away from my home I still feel like I'm l that little girl. They’re still trying to make decisions for me, like they didn’t trust me to make good ones on my own. Now look at us. A broken family, a son who left and never looked back, and a daughter, me, who feels the pressure of our family’s legacy every day of my life. It never used to be this way, our family, we were small and we had nothing, but we didn’t lose hope. And now it seems like we have everything, but our hope is gone. I hope today goes well, Dads really counting on me to make things work here. I promised I’d give it a shot, but I’m scared I’m miles away from my home, and my friends and here in this upper class subdivision I feel like I don’t belong. Well its time, in can voices down stairs and that must mean that my dad’s friends have arrived. I hope things work here, but if not I can always go like with Sara, like we always planned.

Love,

Hailey

I closed my diary and walked over to my bed. Lifting up the mattress I placed it on the board, and put the mat back in place. It was a pathetic hiding spot, but it was about the only hiding spot that I had at the moment. We had arrived at the new house late the night before and only the bare minimum had been unpacked. I collapsed on the bed and pulled out my IPod, on scrolled through all of the pictures I had saved onto it. The majority were of Sara and I, but there were lots of my other friends too. I felt a tear escape my eye and I wiped it with the bottom of my shirt.

“Honey, our guests are here.”

I rolled my eyes, the guests were friends of Dad’s from his new job, and they had insisted on stopping by to make sure that we were settling in alright. I walked over to my closet and picked up my black and grey cardigan that Sara had bought me last Christmas. I tugged it on, threw on a little bit of mascara and pulled a brush through my hair. I looked in the mirror, I had bags under my eyes that no amount of concealer would ever hide, but at least I looked presentable.

I made my way down the grand staircase that would bring me from the third floor to the lobby where Dad and his guests were awaiting my arrival. As I descended the stairs I couldn’t help but think about all of the movies that had this very scene within them. The ones where rich people are throwing a big party, and the girl of the night makes her way down the staircase, with an escort holding her up.  I tried to imagine myself in that situation but it was too bizarre to even fathom. Those girls were perfect in every sense of the world; they had the body, the money, the charm. Everything that they wanted was there’s. Thankfully, I didn’t get hooked on fairy tales and preferred to think reasonably.

When I reached the bottom of the stairs, I took a deep breath and made my way over to the lobby. I was nervous; it was the first time I was going to associate with people of this stature outside of the family. My nerves settled when I spotted my dad. He was easy to pick out; he stood at 6’2 and had a wiry lean frame. His eyes were a deep jade and his auburn hair contrasted nicely with his complexion. Back in my old town, the girls had always teased me about how hot my parents were. There it was one thing, but here it was like looks came with the territory of being rich. My suspicions were confirmed seconds later when a laugh, drew my eyes behind him to the couple by the front door.

They were young, much like my parents and were obviously from a well standing family. They were dressed to impress. Their entire essence screamed rich. Yet, when she smiled at me, I got scared, not because it was intimidating but because it was genuine.  It wasn’t a smile that said were going to get under your skin and find out all the gossip, it was a smile that said they actually wanted to be here and be friendly. That’s what scared me the most. That these people weren’t going to be all they were cracked out to be and that they were all civil people rather than money hungry villains.

“You must be Hailey, I’m Amelia Harrington and this is my husband Cole.” She extended her hand and I grasped it in her hand. I was surprised and took note of her firm grasp. I then did the same thing with Cole.

“It’s very nice to meet you Mr. & Mrs. Harrington, I hope we can make good time together. “

Amelia smiled, “Please, call me Amelia sweetheart.”

I just smiled and nodded. The adults stood around for a few more minutes, and then decided to move into the kitchen and have a couple drinks. I was contemplating my chances of being able to sneak back up to my room when the doorbell rang.

“I got it Dad!” I yelled

“Thanks Hails.”

I walked to the door wondering who it would be probably another neighbour just wanting to see how we were making out, and decide whether or not we were worth being on their radar. I was shocked when I opened the door and found an amazing pair of sapphire blue eyes.

The boy standing on the other side of the door looked surprised to see me.

“Is this the Keus residence?”  He asked

I nodded, unable to talk; I was never good at talking to guys, especially smoking hot guys who just happened to be standing in front of my house. I took the moment to check him out. His eyes were gorgeous, and they made his face glow. His light brown hair made him look like a little boy but at the same time a man. The V-neck polo that he was wearing showed off his tanned biceps. His shoulders

Were broad and made me wonder what it would feel like to be wrapped in his arms. I shaked the thought out of my head immediately.  Guys like him never even gave girls like me a second glance.

I felt my cheeks redden when I saw him waving his hand in front of face trying to get my attention.

“I’m sorry, I was umm distracted.” My cheeks reddened further

“Its ok babe, I know I’m hot and you can’t help it.”  He smirked.

“Ok, so I’ll bring you too my dad cause’ that must be why you’re here right?”

“Actually” He started, but I was already walking inside and towards the kitchen. I heard the door close behind me so I knew that he was following me.

As soon as we walked into the room I saw Mrs. Harrington’s face light up.

“Oh good Cameron, you’re here and just in time. David, Hailey, this is our son Cameron.” She said introducing us.

“You’re…your son?”

This time my dad spoke up,

“ Yes, Hailey and we have been talking and we decided since they only live a few houses over  and you go to the same school Cameron will give you a tour of the town tomorrow and will drive you back and forth to school until we can get you a car.”

“What!” Cameron and I yelled at the same time

“Mom” Cameron said, “You can’t be serious!”

Mrs. Harrington turned and faced her son head on.

“Yes I am, we’ve talked about it and decided it would be good for both of you, besides maybe it will help you get better after the whole Claire situation.

“Mom!” He yelled appalled. When she just gave him an innocent glance, he sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose with his finger and his thumb.

“I’m going home” He said, and then walked outside and away from us. His mother sighed.

“Well that went well.” She said. “Come on I need a drink” She led my father and Cole away back into the kitchen, and I stood in the living room wondering what had just happened.

A day with an arrogant, conceited, rich, jerk. What could possibly go wrong?

So thats it for Chapter 2 :) So what do you think is going to happen of the Date??/
