CHAPTER 6
The music continued, but sounded muffled. When i looked at where I keep my iPod charging I saw my iPhone instead, but it wasn't playing. I looked around my room, when I saw it on my ledge. My iPod almost about to fall off the I leaped up to open the window, while getting tangled up in my covers. I quickly open my window and grab my annoying alarm of an iPod right when it starts to fall. After unlocking it I turn off the alarm and toss it onto the bed. And I head for the shower. Once, I have my baby pink colored jeans and red tank top with a jean jacket I come back out into my room. I grab iPhone and iPod and then I notice something. I sticky note on the back of it.
Hanna.
You left your iPod on the tree so I was going to give it to you this morning. But it kept singing about a doctor so I left it on your window
~ Eric.
Even though he was giving it to me because he didn’t know how to turn it off, it was sweet that he left me a note and gave it back to me. I don't know why, but it made me smile. As I put on my black pumps I grabbed my bag and went downstairs. The smell of bacon and waffles wafted to the hallway, I came into the kitchen to see my mom putting the syrup on the waffles and my little shit zu, Elizabeth, and my mom’s little dog, Tinker, jumping up and down at the counter trying to grab at least a crumb of the food.
“Morning mom!” I say as I grab a lemonade drink from the fridge. “Hi baby! Oh mommy’s little baby. mommas’ missed you. Were you nice to the groomer?” I say in a high-pitched cooing voice to my dog. She replied with a bark and jumps up about mid-way to my thigh, as I grab her. Her long black curly hair, now soft and straight her collar nice and new. I kiss her head as put her back down.
“Don’t forget you have to come to the clinic after school today ok?” says, my mom as she puts on her glasses and finishes her coffee. I nod while I rub Tinker’s little belly while she’s on the floor. After that I begin to eat my food. I’m in the middle of swallowing a piece of bacon when something grabs my chin, yanking it to the side. I see my moms eyes looking at mine.
“How late were you up? I went by your room last night but you didn’t answer me. I thought you were listening to music? What were you doing?” My mom says eyeing me up and down.
I swallow my food and reply with the truth, “ I was watching the meteor shower. I almost missed it if it wasn’t for my alarm, I thought it was tomorrow. All I did was sit on my window seal listening to music mom.” Okay so maybe it wasn’t the whole truth, but she would of freaked if I told her I was with Eric or as she says “a male creature”. Yeah, she still thinks I’m ten or something, so what she doesn’t know won’t hurt her.
“You forgot one. How late?” she says sternly.
“One a.-”I’m cut off by her phone.
“One a.m.! We’ll talk about how late you can stay up when you come to the clinic. Bye sweetie.” She kisses my cheek as she answers the phone and heads out the door. After she leaves I break a piece of bacon in half and give each piece to the dogs, then I wash my plate and head to school.
