six boys were seated in a circle of their practice room, with markers and papers in the middle. everyone, especially Rocky, was excited for their best friend's birthday. it was honestly their favorite day excluding Christmas. balloons were either on the floor, or taped to the walls. they had less than two hours to create a simple yet perfect party for the person who had been with them since predebut.
"yah Rocky! are you going to help with the banner, or stare at your gift to her?" Rocky suddenly turned his attention to Mj, and gently dropped the perfectly wrapped present to the side before going to his group. his heart was beating rapidly every time a minute passes.
they wanted everything to be perfect, because Jia meant everything to them. ever since Rocky befriended her at school, she's been their number one supporter- visiting their practices, making their lunchboxes, even ditched p.e to supervise them while they were filming 'To Be Continued'.
they love her as a little sister, except Rocky. his infatuation towards her was one of the main reasons why he approached her in the first place. but as time progresses and he got to know her more, it turned into love. after almost two years of being best friends with her, he decided that today is the day to confess to her.
an hour in and they were almost done, they just needed to bring in the cake from the staff room and hang up the small banner they made with love.
"guys! we have less than an hour until Jia and her sister arrive! Sanha, you practiced the song multiple times, if you don't stop playing the song we're going to stop promoting 'Breathless' and the reason will be because you've been playing it on repeat! Mj! we don't need extra letters for the banner, you can stop tracing and cutting out. Eunwoo, keep doing what you're doing, good job. Moonbin! Start getting the cake with Rocky! we have 40 minutes left and counting!" Jinjin was checking off his list while shouting commands to his friends.
"Jinjin hyung! why are we the only ones working?" Sanha placed his guitar on the stand and was "glaring" at his hyung.
Jinjin only smiled and waved the clipboard at him. "i'm the leader, so that means i'm in charge of checking things off!
"hyung, that's just your drawing with the 'list' written in the corner." Sanha complained while fixing the utensils on the table. Jinjin quickly hid his clipboard and cleared his throat. "30 minutes guys! Rocky, if you're still getting nervous about confessing, go outside and take a breather. just catch up to Moonbin later, okay?"
Rocky quickly bowed and said thanks to his hyung, rushing to the mens room. while cooling himself off, his mind was wandering to your gift. will she like it? oh god if i mess up she'll think i'm stupid! his phone suddenly buzzed, and a text from her sister told him that they came earlier, and that they're checking in to get a guest pass. his eyes widened and rushed back into the practice room.
"guys! they're coming up!" Sanha started to panic, pacing around the room trying to figure out how to tell her surprise and that he planned most of it. "Sanha stop panicking and help Bin get the cake!" he started running to the staff room while the rest did a small room check to see if everything was perfect.
decorations? check.
her favorite food? check.
a playlist of her favorite songs? check.
cake? candles are lit.
Rocky's confidence and confession? almost there.
"guys, i think i'm just going to confess to her on white day."
"pabo! white day was a few days ago!"
"then i'll wait until valentine's day!"
"are you sure you can wait until next year to confess?"
"no, but-"
"just say a simple i like you and just see what happens next!"
"hyung it's not that-"
DING!
it was the elevator, confirming that you'll be here in less than 10 seconds.
"quick! turn off the lights!"
"Sanha, don't blow out the candles! obviously that's the only light that's acceptable to be lit!"

tears suddenly poured out of your eyes, while your sister high fived them. "did you help plan this?"
"obviously! do you like it?"
"like it? i love it!" Sanha then started to strum his guitar while your sister brought the cake to you. instead of the usual happy birthday song, they sang 'Breathless', one of your favorite songs from them.

an hour had passed and you all were laying on the floor full from the food and cake. "Jia, you want to open a present?" you sat up and nodded. "well we have a problem- we all planned your presents to be sent to your house. but! Rocky didn't get the message, so that means you can open his now, and ours later. you okay with that?" you nodded and Rocky quickly stood up and grabbed your present from the corner of the room.
not even bothering about the mess, you quickly tore open the big box. inside held a sweater, and another small box. you held it up to your face and shook it. "is this one of your pranks again?" Rocky shook his head no and told you to open the box.
you gasped when you saw that inside held a shiny necklace. you then grinned widely and hugged Rocky. "thank you so much!"
"but that's not his only gift." you looked at the boys in confusion. "Rocky, just do it already!"
he blushed a deep red and held your wrist. "you don't hold the wrist pabo! that's gonna hurt her! hold her hand!" quickly saying a small sorry, he grabbed your hand.
"uh- well, Jia. i actually like you?"
"why did you say that with uncertainty you pabo! make things right!"
"Moonbin calm down and let the poor boy speak!"
your eyes widened at his words. "when did you start liking me?"
"way before i started liking you. i guess you can say i wanted to stop admiring you from far and actually talk to you. so, will you be mine?"
"yes!" you guys both hugged and screams(mostly from Moonbin) were filling in the room.
