She decided to keep her style more classy and left her house wearing a black skater dress that was modest compared to what some people (Irene Lawson, for example) were wearing. Now, the girls were all gathered together at Victoria's giant mansion in her enormous room that was probably three times the size of Evelyn's, doing their hair and makeup.
Tonight was the night where most of the girls here were looking for either a one night stand or a real relationship. Evelyn, personally, wasn't a big fan of one night stands and seriously doubted true love being found in the midst of a wild teenage party, but she didn't say anything. Instead, she and Victoria exchanged knowing looks as Irene droned on and on and on about makeup and boys.
"Oh my God, smoky eye looks so good on you, Evelyn." Victoria announced, stepping back to admire her handiwork.
"Thanks." Evelyn said, examining herself in the mirror. She didn't wear makeup much and when she did, it was never more than just a dab of lip gloss and a quick swipe of mascara.
The eyeshadow made her amber eyes pop and stand out even more than it usually did, her cheekbones were more defined and her dark red lips gave her an elegant, yet slightly naughty look.
Victoria suited a more doe-eyed look, lining her large brown eyes with eyeliner and mascara and putting on a nude lipstick.
"Why is this party the biggest one of the year?" Evelyn asked, suddenly curious. She didn't know very much about parties here, and she didn't see any harm in asking.
"Well, this one isn't that big, usually, but since Jace came back and all and everyone knows he's going, practically everyone in the entire school is, as well." she explained.
"Watch him just show up for five minutes and then leave," said Evelyn. "Will everyone else follow him out the door, too? I wonder."
"Probably." Sophia Wilkinson, one of Victoria's other friends that she had invited over, piped up. She was sitting on Victoria's bed, looking into her pocket mirror and delicately applying eyeliner on her left eyelid. "Poor Noah. Actually, nevermind, I don't feel sorry for him if Jace did walk out. Never really liked him that much."
Everyone knew that Noah Baker was not only one of the richest kids at their school which was why his mansion was the ideal place to throw a party, but he was also one of the biggest jerks as well, getting in trouble with the law more times than he actually came to school. The only reason why he wasn't in jail yet was because of his parents' money. Nevertheless, he was still a part of the 'popular' crowd and there were many girls who liked him, though Evelyn was willing to bet any amount of money that they were only after the money, or delusional with the idea that Noah was a 'bad boy' and they'd be the girl to change his 'bad boy ways'.
"His parties aren't something to miss though, even if Jace wasn't here." Victoria pointed out, neatly putting back the cosmetics into her Kate Spade makeup bag.
Victoria was hella neat and her large bedroom didn't have a single crumb on the floor, wrinkle in the sheets or even the slightest bit of dust. Evelyn admired it a lot.
"Ooh, look at that, half an hour to kill before heading over." Laura, another one of Victoria's friends said, glancing down at her watch.
"Alright, what do you girls wanna do?" asked Victoria, smoothing out her outfit.
"We could prank call some people from our school." Irene pointed out, reaching over to Victoria's desk and getting out the student directory. "I know a bunch of people I really hate."
So do I. thought Evelyn.
"Prank calls? What is this, middle school?" Victoria said.
But besides her and Evelyn, the other girls in the room seemed pretty on board with it.
