I came back to the hidden area with a small bag. I left to go to the pharmacy, picking up basic things to treat Christine if she needed it. She didn't utter a word about the fight -except for when u saved her- or her injuries. I really just hope she's okay.

I snuck in, hearing silence. Did she leave? Why would she? I have her phone after all. Girls supposedly worshiped their phones, so she wouldn't leave it behind. Would she? A sigh escapes my lips, once I realized how much I really didn't know Christine. All I've really ever seen was the paper thin version she puts on for display, hoping for acceptance. The most that most people have seen of the real Christine is when she cries. She's even ridiculed for it.

I take strides in, my thoughts still wandering. Maybe I'll make it a meaningless goal to learn a little bit about her. It'll help create conversation instead of the irritating dead silence we succumbed to earlier. I entered the room, rain continuing to fall, and Christine... On the floor. Asleep. She had an adorable, dreamy look on her face. She cuddled a book of hers, it appeared to be a notebook, but it had no lines. I found it weird.

I tossed my damp coat aside, sitting down next to her. I swept her soft, caramel brown hair aside, out of her face. A, horrifying, image of my sister came to mind. A panicked, shooting my hand back. I shook my head, looking back to Christine. I stare up at the ceiling, trying to slow down my quick breaths.

How did Erica come to mind from that? I had thought I long forgot about that...  I massaged my temples. It wasn't real, forget about it.  My thoughts disappeared when Christine's phone when off in my pocket. I pulled it out, reading the contact name of the person calling.

It wasn't a title, just a name. Luke. I wonder who that could be. I wasn't going to answer, that would probably be creepy and raise some concerns. I nudged Christine. "Wake up." I whispered. Her eyes fluttered open, revealing her hazel pupils. She groaned as she looked at me. She quickly sat up and tried to fix her hair, which has turned into a mess.

"Have you been watching me sleep?"

"That isn't important right now." For the record, no I wasn't watching her sleep. You creeps out there.

"Don't dodge the question!" She wrapped her arms around mine and looked me in the eyes with A childish grin. She was acting like a kid! "Were you?" She teased and giggled.

"Did you smoke some crack or something while I was gone?"

"No. I just like teasing my brother. That's all."

"Hey, what's your brother's name?"

"Huh?" The question came to her as a surprise, "It's Luke."

"Well he just called."

"What!?"

"Yep. Here-" She ripped the phone away.

"I'm so dead!"

"Just tell him the truth if he asks."

"Like he'll believe me..." She muttered.

She dialed his number and waited. It rung as she scooted away, probably not wanting me to overhear the conversation. She said her hello, slipping a fake smile to her face even if he couldn't see her. It fell quickly.

"I'm sorry..." She whispered. "It's just... I'll come home...." She hung up. Standing up, she took her things and put them away in her backpack, slipping it on around her shoulders. "Looks like I'm leaving." She said without even looking at me.

"Yeah." I replied, not giving her a glance.

With that, she left. Her footsteps disappearing and replaced with the subtle noise of the rain.

Sorry for a s short chapter. The next one quite possibly will be longer or I'll just combine it with this one ^^.
