Victor looked at the dish in front of him with interest. He had always been a bit picky with his eating habits. He poked at the steaming meal in front of him.
"It's not going to bite you Victor, I promise. Just eat it, it's delicious." Yuri said, taking a generous bite of the steaming katsudon. He then started waving his hands in front of his mouth screaming "HOT! HOT!"as he grabbed for the water in front of him.
Victor laughed and picked up a small bite with his chopsticks and tentatively put it in his mouth. His eyes widened. "Vkusno!" He exclaimed in his native language. Victor moved to America from Russia when he was 7, so he is still relatively fluent in Russian and uses it ever so often.
Yuri chuckled at the silver haired boy and continued to scarf down his favorite meal. They finished the meal in almost complete silence, too busy devouring the pork cutlet bowl to bother making conversation. When they were finished they sat back for a while, patting their full bellies in satisfaction.
"Hey Victor, why don't you stay the night. I'm sure you're exhausted and it could give you time to get to know each other better. Besides, Yuri needs more friends. You could take the guest room. Or you and Yuri could share his room" she said with a wink. Yuri and Victor both went red.
"Mom, I don't thi-"
"I would love to" Victor said, cutting off Yuri completely.
"Wonderful! Just make sure it's ok with you parents first. And I'll get your bedding for the guest room." Yuri's mother said.
"Yes ma'am. And there is no need to get bedding for the guest bed room, Yuri and I will be having a sleepover!" Victor responded in an excited tone.
"We're gonna have a what!?!?!" Yuri exclaimed.
His outburst was ignored by Victor and his mother as they continued to converse.
Yuri sighed in defeat and got lost in his thoughts. He had had one hell of a day. First Victor Nikiforov finding him mid-panic attack, then said boy taking him out for ice cream, having dinner with him, and sleeping at his house the first day they met. He didn't know how to feel about the situation. He was sure Victor didn't intend to hurt Yuri, but he thought that Victor might get tired of him and leave him. That was a scary thought, as it had happened before and he knows he can't let it happen again. Last time made Yuri's anxiety worse than it already was, adding on trust issues to the mess that is Yuri Katsuki.
Yuri was dragged out of his thoughts by Victor's voice saying his name.
"Huh?" Yuri responded dumbly, not hearing a thing the silver haired boy had said.
"I need to go home to pick up some clothes, do you want to come?" Victor repeated.
"Yeah, sure. Just let me grab my shoes and my phone" Yuri responding, tip toeing over the cool hardwood floors to retrieve his belongings. After slipping on his shoes and jacket, he turned back to Victor, who was watching the boy struggle to get his feet into his converse with an amused grin.
"Are you ready?" Victor questioned, taking his car keys out of his pocket.
"Yeah" Yuri responded, glancing curiously at the poodle key chain adorning Victor's keys. Yuri yelled a quick goodbye to his mother, telling her that they'd be back later, and hopped down the steps after Victor. Yuri pulled his jacket tighter around him, shivering at the chilly fall air as he quickly made his way to Victor's car. He got in the car with a sigh of relief, grateful that Victor had already turned the heat on.
