Tia awoke the warm and cozy bed with a punishing pain in her head. Her eyes could hardly adjust to the bright light of the early morning sunlight pouring in the bedroom. The space where Jack laid was already cold when she reached for him.

Tia eventually padded down the hall and headed down the stairs in search of Jack. Her nose followed the first signs of life and she went to the kitchen. With the headphones covering his ears, Jack failed to see Tia approach. She took a seat at the breakfast bar and watched Jack shuffle about the kitchen while he prepared a stack of pancakes and scrambled eggs.

Jack finally turned away from the stove and jumped when he saw Tia watching him dance around making breakfast. Pulling off his headphones, he immediately turned red with embarrassment.

"Don't stop on my account, Jack. I was loving the view," Tia said teasingly. Jack turned away again and shook his butt for Tia. Tia scurried to the other side of the kitchen island and squeezed Jack's butt before he turned lifted her off the ground and onto the counter for a kiss that had her longing for more.

"Good morning, honey. How are you feeling?" Jack asked,

"I have a splitting headache, but if you keep kissing me like that, I may forget all about it," Tia admitted, prompting Jack to kiss her once again.

You were quite the party animal," Jack said once he ended their kiss, "Have some of this."

Jack said handing her a glass full of a green and soupy liquid. Tia eyed it hesitantly then took a sip, surprised by the sweet and tart flavor. She'd nearly finished the whole glass after a few sips.

"That was so good. What's in it?" Tia asked as she sipped the drink.

"It's my super secret hangover cure. Along with these," Jack said handing her two aspirin tablets.

"Thanks Jack. You're so good to me," Tia said, pulling him close again in order to kiss him once again.

"Will you two get a room?" said Brittany as she grabbed a slice of bacon that was cooling on a platter.

"Morning, Brit," Tia said as she hopped down from the counter to chat with her friend.

"Morning Tia. Did you have a goodnight? You little party animal," Brittany teased.

"Maybe drinking isn't for me," Tia said as she followed her friend's example and took a slice of bacon and joined her on the other side of the bar.

"Don't you two fill up on bacon. There's more to eat over here," Jack said sitting a plate full of eggs in front of them before going back to retrieve the waffles and syrup.

"I had no idea you were so domestic, Jack," Tia said as she watched Jack load his plate with bacon, pancakes, and eggs, then drowned the plate in syrup, "I thought I was the only one who loved syrupy eggs!"

"It's a match made in weird food heaven," said Brittany sarcastically.

"Don't mind her, she's just angry that her true love, Trevor Lawrence, was making out with Alyssa Cosgrove all night," Kalinda said, seemingly appearing from nowhere. Somehow, even though she'd had more to drink then the rest of them combined, she was fresh faced and even more cheery than any of them as she entered the kitchen with a freshly made up face, a billowing white linen top and denim shorts and a pair of leather sandals. With the large designer bag slung over her arm, she was the very portrait of the chic and low key socialite.

Kalinda was the daughter of second generation immigrants from India. Kalinda's father had made the decision to move to California after growing up in Chicago, and he opened a successful medical practice and her mother was a partner at an international law firm. Kalinda joked about her parents being the Indian version of the Cosby Show. Just like in the television show, she had three older sisters and one older brother. Kalinda was the youngest of them, and even though her parents always were working, she was fawned over and spoiled by all of her siblings.
