Simple Words

I never thought I would use

Such simple words to mean much more.

These simple words, like Shakespeare and his pen,

Flood from my fingers.

Many people will tell you

That it is not enough to simply want.

That to want and to wish are no more than a child's dream,

Dancing in their heads.

High Schoolers are being turned away

For lack of experience they say.

College are looking for the resume that is the fullest

Filling the paper with simple words.

It seems like it is a different world

Than the one you are experiencing right now.

The world that knocked you down and pulled you right back up

With the use of the words you tell yourself every day.

College is a dream than many people have

To prove their strength in this world.

Your strength is proven in different ways

to show the world you can.

Simple words are formed

With even simpler letters.

A-B-C-D

The song we have known since three.

For thirteen years we strive for that A

Some only reaching a D.

The world tells us that it is not good enough

But the simple words tell us different.

So never forget the struggles

As you continue to form your strengths.

One DENIED will not stop your world

but only a second.

At eighteen your world revolves

Around that fat envelope.

That will say the simple words,

CONGRATULATIONS, YOU HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED!
