one

"janet, you need to get up. you're going to be late on the first day." my mom yells before walking out, leaving the door open.

i groan and sit up, rubbing my eyes as my blanket falls around my waist. "stop leaving my door open! holy fuck."

i pull my hair into a ponytail and throw my blanket off my body before trudging over to my closet to pick out clothes. i grab black skinny jeans, the first shirt i find, and undergarments before heading to the bathroom to shower.

i quickly dry off, brush my teeth, and get dressed before filling in my eyebrows, putting on mascara, clear lip gloss, and deodorant.

i run back to my room and grab my phone and smokes, shoving them in my back pocket and jogging downstairs to heat up yesterday's coffee.

"have you seen the new guy?" marina asks ashley, melanie and i at lunch as she takes a sip of her drink.

"yes, he's so hot, oh my god." ashley gushes.

"i haven't seen him." melanie shrugs, biting an apple.

"neither have i." i respond.

"he's made friends with brendon urie and his gang." marina scowls, motioning to the table brendon is sat at, surrounded by his friends.

"he's got yellow hair." mel giggles.

"isn't he hot, jane?" ashley questions, staring at him.

i dont respond as i look him up and down. he's got a sleeve tattoo, and he looks strong as hell. he's smiling, and i can't deny that he's absolutely beautiful. "sure." i mutter, turning to my phone.

"oh my god, he's walking over here." melanie freaks out.

i look up to see him on his way over to us, wearing a nasa shirt and black jeans. "is this seat reserved?" he stops, pointing to the empty chair beside me at our table.

"nope!" ashley responds at the speed of light.

"well then i'm gonna make myself at home." he laughs a little, revealing perfect white teeth as he pulls out the chair and sits.

he turns to me. "i'm josh dun. i just came over to ask for your number because you're absolutely beautiful."

"oh, um, thank you." my stomach flips. "i'm jane williams. i can just put it on your phone or?"

"yea, just put it in my phone." he smiles, unlocking his phone and passing it over to me.

i type in my number and set the contact as "jane" before handing it back to him.

"thanks." he smiles again, winking.

"uh, no problem." i push my hair behind my ear.

"i'll text you tonight, alright?" he says, standing up and pushing the chair back in.

"alright." i whisper, weakly smiling.

he waves quickly and jogs back over to brendon's table.

"oh my god." melanie almost yells. "i bet you guys are gonna be the cutest couple in school!"

"maybe he doesn't want to date, mel, maybe he just wants a fling." i shrug.

"i don't think anyone could have 'just a fling' with you, jane. you're like, the prettiest girl ever." ashley laughs.

"thanks, but you're wrong. you guys know i've never had anything serious. i only do flings and he looks like the kind of guy who does too." i shrug.
