Connor and I walked out of Taco Bell and over to his car, the asphalt damp from a little drizzle that had stopped not long before we left. He opened the door for me and I slid into the passenger's seat as he walked around to the back and pulled out his phone. I couldn't make out what he was saying, but at that moment, I saw the guys walk over to the exit door and get in Kian's car, Jc talking on his phone, as well. Connor was probably calling him. After a minute or two, Connor hopped in the driver's seat and pulled off. He didn't leave the way we came, though. He went the other way.
I had no clue what was going on, where we were going, or anything else. I asked Connor where we were going, and all he did was look over at me, smirk, giggle, and shake his head.
We drove for a while; I still had no clue where we were going, Connor wouldn't tell me. Part of me wanted to take him by the shoulders and playfully shake him a bit, but the other part of me knew he was driving, and shaking him wasn't a good idea. So I just sat in the passenger's seat and talked to him for a while. I don't exactly remember what we were talking about, but I do remember that we laughed a lot. It was fun having a full-on conversation with him, even if it was only for half an hour.
Finally, he stopped in the middle of the woods, and being pitch black outside, he pulled out his phone and used the flashlight. He led me to the edge of a rock and sat me down at the edge, swiftly sitting down next to me. Our feet hung off the edge, and that scared me a little since I was kind of afraid if hights. Just then, he put his arm around me and scooted closer to me. I scooted closer, too, turned to him, placed my hands and head on his chest as he rested his chin on my head. Then, I said to him, "Normally, when I'm this close to someone, I don't feel this way at all. Everything feels awkward and...weird. But here, with you, on a night just like this one, I feel like I can do anything. It feels good to be sitting here alone with the one I really love." This was pretty much exactly what I said in my dream! It was exactly the same setting, as well. "As long as I'm with you, I don't care where I am. As long as it's with my chin resting against your head, up against the moonlight." Apparently, Connor read my thoughts and continued my fantasy, whick freaked me out. "I couldn't ask for anything more," I told him. "Neither could I," he said. "I hope you know that I love you, Connor," I told him. "I love you, too, Reagan. I leaned in to kiss him, and just then, my phone rang. I kissed him for a second, anyways, then pulled out my phone to see who it was. My mom. "Hold on, Connor, its my mom." He nodded and turned away. I answered, just curious to know what she wanted. "Hello?" I answered. "Reagan, I have something to tell you." I almost cringed at the tone of her voice. Not angry, but nervous. "What do you need to tell me?" I asked her. "Seth called earlier today." Seth. I froze at the sound of his name, yet there was fire in my eyes. "Hold on a sec, Mom," I told her. I turned down the volume on my phone, because you know how other people can easily hear your cell phone conversations? Well, this was one Connor shouldn't hear. Turning the phone speaker away from my lips, I said "I'm so sorry, Connor, but would you excuse me for a minute?" He nodded and pulled out his phone, taking a few pictures of his feet off the cliff to post on tumblr or instagram, probably. I walked back into the woods a bit further so Connor couldn't hear me. Seth was my ex-boyfriend. He broke up with me before I had a chance to break up with him. We fought all the time, he hit me, cheated on me, even tried to rape me once, and for a while, and for some insane reason, I let it all go. He was the most popular boy in school. Jock, captain of the football team, and me being head cheerleader, I was one of the most popular girls. I guess being a cheerleader makes guys think they can treat you like a Barbie, because that's how it worked out for me. I pulled the phone back up to my mouth so I could talk. "Ok, what did he say?" I asked. "He said that if you didn't get back together with him, he'd make you. I'm not sure what he meant by that, exactly, but it didn't sound good," she replied. I could hear by the sound of her voice how scared she was. I was, too, but I didn't want to tell Connor about this. So instead, I composed myself, took a deep breath, and said to my mom, "Don't worry, Momma, I'll be fine. Seth wont be bothering me much longer. Bye, Mom, see you Soon!" And with that, I hung up and walked back to where Connor was sitting. I grabbed him by the wrist and tugged on it, motioning for him to get up. "What did your mom want?" Connor asked me. "Oh, nothing," I replied, "Just checking in." Connor nodded and held my hand as we walked back to his car.
