Anniversaire means Birthday

---

My skin jittered as my body adjusts to the rising sun, showering the whole apartment with a warm yellow. I was currently awake, sipping on a cup of coffee and admiring my lover who is still curled up upon the sheets. Her face peaceful and the sight of Chat Noir, curled up next to her. Ever since that mission, we were both called off and we were allowed to rest for a while. Me and Amelie both objected about it at first, but even Angela insisted and butchered the line "Doctor's Orders". It was early in the morning and I carefully set my cup down, and walked towards my arsenal, where there was an ominous box set there, with an untied ribbon set upon it. I smiled.

It's Amelie's birthday today.

I remember the two nights I spent on remaking her sniper, completely ignoring the fact that she told me to never take her sniper. I did extra missions to afford this, even if I clearly knew that I didn't have to do this. I gold-plated it. It works like a normal sniper, and I made sure to sand the gold plated areas so it won't dazzle enemies to death, it looked great, I told myself. I also propped in a few books that she was failing at not showing her want for them while we were walking along the streets of the city. Also adding a rose on top of it, I wrapped the whole gift, making sure the ribbon secured the whole package, and hid it somewhere and waited for tonight, as we were going to celebrate her birthday.

"[Y/N]?" My heart was once again pumped with love, her crisp, french-laced accent had me struck there, dazed. I walked towards her, she was still in her sleeping attire, but she was fully awake, sipping on a cup of coffee.

"Yes?" I kissed her on the forehead and sat on the edge of the bed, occasionally staring and petting at my beloved chat noir, who was fondling the bed sheets.

"Happy Birthday." I answered quickly. She hummed in response as she was satisfied with my answer.

She propped her cup at the bedside table which I gladly took and set it into the sink, whilst cleaning it, she went to the bathroom. A few moments later, she came out of the bathroom, wearing casual clothing and walked towards me.

"I have a few ideas of what I want to do today, cheri." She looked across from me, looking at the bustling city below.

"And what would that be?" She smiled.

"I think...We should visit the headquarters, I have something to pick up from there." She looked over to her sniper, which was missing bullets. I promptly nodded and responded.

"Sure, we'll go right away."

--Time Skip--

We arrived shortly and was met with Reindhart and Ana baking cookies, stuffing them into every mouths they could see, while Tracer was running away from them.

"Love! You're here! Happy birthday by the way Widowmaker! I really do hope that you too are doing wel-oof!" She was cut off shortly by Reindhart and Ana.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY WIDOWMAKER!" Reindhart was about to reach in for a bone-crushing hug, which Amelie stood behind me. Reindhart decided not to hug Amelie and backed away.

"Yes, I really do hope that Overwatch worked well for you.." She stared at the both of us, while Mei cooed at the sight of Amelie and I.

"You two look so well together!" She cheered happily, followed by a whizzing robot cheering along with her.

I laughed dryly.

"I'm going to go pick up a few things." Amelie pecked my cheek and walked away, I wanted to follow her, but was stopped by countless other team mates, swarming in and asking where Amelie was. I just shrugged and walked towards the Shimada brother's who were fighting in the training area, but fighting...as in a brother's quarrel.

"You drank my Sake didn't you genji!" Hanzo barked back at another response.

"It wasn't me brother! It was Jesse! He snuck into you're room while I was meditating with Zenyatta and that was it!" Genji defended himself quickly.

"Genji and Hanzo." They both straightened up at the sound of my voice. Hanzo cleared his voice.

"I apologise for my brother's immature actions." Genji quickly replied.

"My immature actions? How about your immature actions!" Hanzo glared at Genji, who was quickly silenced. Hanzo was the older brother after all.

"Genji, I sure do hope that we will still meditate, I see your brother might want to join?" The shimada brothers turned around to see Zenyatta, sounding wistful and levitating upon the metal floor.

"Y-Yes Master, Hanzo was just talking to me about his stress levels and issues." Genji said matter-of-factly. Hanzo only nodded and followed Zenyatta, which Genji said goodbye to me and ran after the two of them. I sighed.

"It's not high noon yet, but I have total patience." I heard a certain cowboy mutter behind me. He was currently drinking a form of alcohol, staring at the giant clock above the training robots.

After that awkward conversation, I soon walked back towards Amelie's room, which was empty with only a few stray items on the desks and shelves. I hummed toward myself and waited for Amelie's return. Speak of the devil, Amelie returned. She was carrying a box of venom mines and cases of bullets. I offered to carry them for her and she accepted, since it was her birthday after all, and we went home, leaving this chaotic place for once.

After we arrived at my place, we decided we were too tired to go outside and have a nice chat and do it tomorrow. I insisted on us having a walk outside, but she just walked past me and grabbed two glasses and poured wine into it. She handed one to me which I took hesitatingly.

"Drink." Her short command actually made me drink it, I reluctantly sipped it and tasted the lingering flavour of the strong wine. She was next to me, also leaving a few drops of wine to taste. I followed her to the balcony and we, once again. Watched the city.

"It's very fascinating." I sighed and continued to drink my glass of wine, whilst I was enjoying the view, I nearly jumped and set down my wine on the glass table in the living room and hurried towards the arsenal. I quickly took out the box, as heavy as it was, I heard Amelie's footsteps, making sure she was in the living room, I crept up behind her, hearing a faint gasp as she saw the present.

"Happy Birthday...Amelie." We didn't speak or such as that, I sat down with her and waited for her to open the box. I shuffled closer, and she opened the box. The same gun that I spent weeks/days on was gleaming in it's full pride. She slowly touched the cold metal, and traced it toward the etching of her logo. She then looked over to the books that were next to it and smiled. She picked up the red rose and she whiffed it. She then sighed, eyes fixated on mine.

"Mon amour, I'll be sure to repay you~" She playfully said and I gulped.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) It's not what you think it is.
