The fighter

My sister was getting tore apart because of the bills and the work she had to keep up with. Soon enough she had to start taking pills, first for work, then for sleep, then for stress, then she couldn't go a day without them. One day, when she was coming home from work, she got hit by a car. The police came to the house after taking her to the hospital. I was so devastated but I stayed at my mother's friends house until my sister got better. When she got better I couldn't wait to go to the hospital and visit her. When I got there it was not what I expected, the first thing she did was grab me and pull me towards her, so she could give me a big hug. She wouldn't let go of me and hugged me tighter by the minute. I didn't let go of her either until I felt tears dripping down my back. I let go of her and saw that she was crying. "Whats wrong?" I asked her. She looked behind me at a police officer, I looked at him too.

Then my sister and I looked back at each other and I asked my sister "Whats going to happen to us?" She smiled and said "There won't be an us anymore, but you are going to go to a place where you will be loved and cared for." Even though she was smiling, she was still crying. I saw the shame and sadness in her eyes and replied "Mother told us never to leave each other." "We are not leaving each other, just going our separate ways." I started to cry with her and hugged her again. The man behind be tapped me on the shoulder and said "It's time to go." I didn't do anything but keep hugging my sister and thinking in my head "I don't want to leave her." The man behind me stared for a minute then grabbed my arm and pulled me away from her. I knew he was trying to take me away and I shouldn't have frighted him but I still tried to. "No!" I yelled at him. The man fought and fought me to get away from her and wouldn't give up but apparently he knew I wouldn't either because he yelled "We got a fighter!" out to the hallway.
