So this is the King's house? It looks kinda normal. I was expecting a mansion. I mean other than it being in the middle of nowhere it's really nothing special.
{There are a lot of cars around.}
Probably the other applicants.
I hustled up the stairs and knocked on the door. A man with gray hair opened it and smiled. What is this feeling I'm getting from him?
{It's his aura. Christ I can smell his strength.}
"Are you here for the job?"
"Yes sir my name is Juliana Drake."
"Good good come in. My name is Mike Allen." Something on him smells really good. Maybe a perfume or something.
"No! Get the fuck out!!!!" A booming voice rang out though out the house. I couldn't help but jump. People ran past Mike Allen and I.
"Geez... Alice is at it again." He turned to me.
"You didn't run?"
"Well I kinda really want that job." He smiled. He started walking further into the house and I followed.
It looks like we arrived at an office. He knocked.
"Come in!" A sweet voice answered. I stayed close to Allen when we entered. I saw a beautiful woman sitting at a desk centered in the room. Blonde hair and loving blue eyes. And that smell...it's stronger on her. Warm Chocolate and vanilla. My favorite.
"Where's s Alice?"
"I made her take a little nap after yelling at all those poor people."
"I don't know how she expects to find a protecter when her standards are so high."
"It's her baby girl she won't stand for... Wait I'm sorry. Hello there little one! Allen who is this?!"
"Oh um... What is your name again?"
"Juliana Drake."
"Aren't you just the cutest thing?" She walked up to me and gave me a hug. I could tell she was genuine. I hugged her back.
"You are here for the job too?"
"Yes."
"Well let's get started.Please take a seat. I'm glad you wanted to stay after all those people ran away." I nodded not knowing what to say. She is the luna of all wolves after all. No matter how friendly she seems, she could kill me or have me killed in a split second.
I sat in a chair across from her desk and she sat at her desk picking up a clipboard. Allen sat next to me and started playing a game on his phone.
"How old are you?"
"21." She wrote something down on her clipboard.
"Do you have a mate?"
"No."
"Are you looking?"
"No." She again wrote something down.
"Why do you want this job?"
"I need the money and I always been pretty good with kids."
"Well it's a little more than that." I paused.
"What's s the job again?"
"Well to look after my daughter. She needs a strong wolf to be around her when Alice and I are busy. I would prefer a good role model as well because you will be spending a lot of time together."
"Well I'm an assassin for the king if that gives you an idea of my strength."
"I see... but I'm pretty sure Alice would like to test you regardless. Any bad habits?"
{Sleeping around.}
Shut it.
"No. What kind of test?"
A door creaked open. I felt a strong aura move closer. Is that the king?!
My wolf stud at attention.
A woman walked through the door. Well tanned with black hair in a messy bun. She yawned. She didn't notice me. I wasn't even on her radar. Instead she sit on the desk in front of the queen.
"I thought you were napping."
"Well I tried but then I remembered I still have work to do."
"It can wait till you wake up you know... whatever we can talk about your sleeping habits later. I'm in the middle on an interview right now." The woman perked up. She quickly turned around.
"You?!" Her forest green eyes locked on me.
"Yes..." I said quietly not trying to challenge her.
"Please tell me you are stronger than your aura is giving off." I held my head up and spoke with confidence.
"I can hold my own." She grinned.
"Oh really? I would love to put that to the test."
Allen started laughing.
"This should be good."

We all walked outside. The leaves covered the ground.
"This is gonna be a three part exercise. First you will try to out aim my lovely mate Jane. Second you will try to out run Allen. Last you will try to beat me in a fight."
This is a lot just for a job. But I really want to see if I can stick around and find the source of that smell.
"If you can prove your self, you will have a shot at protecting my daughter. Deal?"
"Deal."

I stood next to the queen. Allen had set up targets. 10 in total.
"The one with the best hits wins. What's your weapon of course?"
"Can I have a bow and arrow?" The king gave me a weird look.
"I would have picked a pistol but your call."
{Little does she know we used to hit cans for fun.} I smiled to myself. Ya.
"You can go first." Said the queen.
"Thanks." I picked up my bow and arrows and took my aim. Taking a breath I launched.
Head shot after head shot I went as fast as I could taking them down. I glanced over to see a reaction. The king looked shocked. I smirked to myself. Don't underestimate- Shit!
My hand slipped! I missed the last target!
{Dumb ass, that's what you get for being cooky.} Can you just be supportive?!
The queen walked up to me.
"Nice try." She rubbed my back supportively. "My turn."
She picked up knives and hit all of the bulls eyes perfectly. Shit.
"That's my mate!" The king shouted. " Next challenge shouldn't be so challenging tho. All you have to do is out run the old man."
"How many times do I have to tell you I'm not old!!!!!!"
"Ya ya keep barking. Your gray hair says otherwise."
"It's always been gray!!!"
"Well catch her and prove me wrong." I felt Allen's eye lock on to be with a burning determination. She fired him up on purpose...
"You have to evade him for only 10 minutes. I will give you a head start. Run."
I shifted and bolted into the woods. Heavy foot steps flowed behind me.

My leg burned as a sprinted as fast I possibly could. How is he gaining on me?! I don't even know how 10 minutes isn't up yet!
Oh shit! I tripped over a tree branch and slid hitting my head on a tree trunk.
His foot steps got closer and closer. I tried to get back up but I was dizzy.
"Are you okay little one? That was a pretty bad wipeout." I looked up as saw he was standing over me worried. I shifted back and tried to stand up.
"No stay down. Here it's been 10 minutes. I'm gonna get my mate Jacob he's a doctor. He can make sure you didn't give your self a concussion."
I leaned against the tree and watched him walk away. Ugh being around them is crazy. They are all stronger than me...
{You haven't even fought the king yet.}
Shit. Maybe I can just quit. I can always get a day job.
{Chocolate and vanilla...}
That sounds good. Mmm I can almost smell it. Wait no I do smell it. I sat up. In the forest?!
Foot steps got closer. The king and queen walk up to me. The queen knelt down next to me. "Are you okay love?"
"Ya I'm fine. I think I might be concussed because I'm smelling things." I laughed to myself.
"Don't worry Jacob should be here in a minute." And he was. Brown hair and green eyes. He walked comfortably next to Allen.
The smell got stronger.
Allen was carrying a little girl.
{Mate!}
Fuck.
