A/N: Told from POV of opposing studio contender at a competition.
He dances with a fire inside of him.
The emotion in his movements, his expressions, is intimidating.
I watch from the wings as this amazing dancer flows his way across the stage, lost in the music.
He does it all with his eyes closed.
There are some who would disagree, contest this fact, but I know. He never opens his eyes, not even once, during the entire performance.
Every flip, spin, and jump is carried out with such grace and in such a deliberate fashion it's no wonder his team is in the finals.
His team is The Next Step, and they cheer him on from the opposite wing.
As he reaches the climax of his dance, something is unleashed from inside him. He is absolutely captivating, and when he takes his final bow and the music fades away the entire audience is silent.
Then they abrupt in applause, giving him a standing ovation.
As he turns, I gasp in shock. Not because of his dance, or his striking appearance.
Because of his eyes.
For the brief moment we make eye-contact I see something in his eyes, something terrible.
I see pain.
I think I know now, what made him so amazing that day. It's because he wasn't dancing for himself. He was dancing for someone else.
He was dancing for her.
