I take a few long seconds to take a look at my surroundings. A dark aura embraces me, pulling me into its mysteriousness.

There was a silence--a kind that foreshadows something big is coming up.

I was taken aback when he started speaking, "So, what did you want?" his smirk becoming more evident. Just by looking at his face tells me that he knows what's up. He know I need a shelter, and he's teasing me.

"I'm from London and had to relocate because of some personal matters. My aunt sent me here" I said in a firm tone, hoping he would let me settle.

A long pause. My heart thrusting against my rib cage. "Yes, I know who you are"

I let out a breath of relief, glad that there's a possibility that he'll let me stay. "But I'm not letting you stay here without anything in exchange"

I look at him, my eyes full of wary. "What do you want?"

"Nothing much. Just payment. If you have $500, I'll let you stay for a month. Great deal, isn't it?" he said.

"But I don't have that kind of money. I came from London and had to come here for personal reasons. My aunt said this would be a safe place. Just please, I'll do anything that I can. Please. I really don't have that much" I looked down, ashamed that I lacked formal education to get a job. But it wasn't my fault. My upbringing isn't like other privileged people. I've always had to deal with my dad's matters--what they are should be kept a secret. He's the reason I am forced to flee. No education, no money, no food, no shelter, no life. He was the one caused all of this.

Slowly, my mind pulls me back into the past.

"You will take over our family business"

"This is not a business. This is illegal! A gang! I'm not going to stay with a bunch of criminals" I sneered, my tone defiant.

"You will listen to me. I am your father. I provide you with everything. Everything. Who are you without me? Be a good girl and listen. You just have to date the man"

"I've never taken part in your wrongdoings. I will never use someone like that! This is wrong. No.", I shook my head, angry at my father, the leader of the gang, for pulling me into all of this. He ruined my life. If it weren't for this gang, I would've been at school now, making friends, living a normal simple life. All I want is . . . simple. I've always been independent, never participating in the gang's activities. But now he wants me to date Daniel Cain. Daniel Cain, my father's most fearful rival. At age 22, Daniel's the head of the gang, rivaling my father's. My father wants me to keep my identity a secret and find his criminal records. This is crazy. He does not care about my safety. Only his well-being and well, his gang. I always come in last. Always . . . last.

That's why I've made my decision. My lifetime decision to run away, not having to be concealed, to be locked up in this mansion. But I know how dangerous this will be. It could cost me my life, but even in hell, I want my freedom.

Touching the huge picture frame of my mom who has passed away two years ago, I relish in the memories one last time. Because after I run away, I will be alone. But it's not like I'm not already alone. Wiping the wetness away from my eyes, I realize that I'm crying.

"Stacy. Stacy!" a worried voice brings me back to the present.

My eyes focus, despite the blur, and found the man standing there, looking into my eyes with his worried one. With one hand, he wiped my tears away.

I didn't even know I was crying until I felt his hands. For some reason, I feel comfortable around him, although he seems to be a bit mysterious.

His soothing voice once again catches me attention, "Fine. You can pay me some other way. It doesn't have to be money". His smirk reappears again, knocking the breath away from me. That smirk makes him even more dashingly handsome.

As soon as his words registers in my brain, I am so happy. So happy that there's another way. But something tells me that I shouldn't be this happy yet. Nevertheless, it's another way.

"Really? Thank you so much!" I practically squealed. Realizing how desperate I sound, I immediately shut up and smile shyly.

"The option is that you'll strip when I tell you to. No disobeying" his lopsided smirk turning on max watts.

I feel my eyebrows furrow. What? I must have heard wrong. Argggh. Even though he's handsome, I shouldn't fantasize! But his voice repeats in my head, and after looking up at him for some silent seconds, I realize that was what he really said.

He curled down, hands on his stomach, laughing his heart out. "You really believed that! Looks like you wanna get laid that bad." His laughter pisses me off. I feel heat rushing up to my cheeks. This man's face does not match his attitude. That was rude as hell.

"I'm not going to betray myself like that. I will never give up me body to someone like you!" I screamed, furious at him for playing me.

"Hey it was a test. But I never expected that you could be so dumb" he silently laughs.

Although I'm quite mad that he tricked me like that, I'm really thankful.

"Ok, so what do you actually want"

"I want you to make me three meals a day and clean the place--like a sexy maid" he adds.

"Not the sexy maid part, but yes, I can do that"
