Travis and Felicity's house
As I open my eyes to begin my day, I feel a sense of contentment fill my body. "I am engaged", I think to myself. To the man of my dreams. I have so much to do and so much to plan. But first an engagement party to announce the news. I make my way to the kitchen to prepare a breakfast and jot down some ideas for my engagement party. As I begin preparing breakfast I keep hearing soft bangs but I cannot pin point where it is coming from.
I slowly grab a knife from the kitchen draw and make my way down our passage. Looking for where these soft bangs are coming from. I find myself standing in front of the basement. "Is it coming from in there?" I ask myself. As I am about to touch the door handle to catch my breath and prep myself to walk further on in the house past the secret basement to find where the bangs are coming from I feel a hand touch my hand.
"Felicity, what did I tell you about this basement?" Travis asks angrily.
"Travis, oh my bloody God you scared me." I say almost breathless.
"I asked you a question Felicity, I expect an answer." Travis states fuming with anger.
"Travis, why are you talking to me like that?" I say as I slowly back away.
"Felicity, stop avoiding my damn question and answer me women!" Travis shouts at the top of his lungs.
"Oh my God." I say covering my face.
"Travis, y-y-you are scaring me." I say on the verge of crying.
Before he can reply I speak once more:"I simply heard bangs and was walking around-with a knife I might add- because I thought I might be in danger. I know the door doesn't open Travis. I was m-m-merely using it to c-c-c-catch my breath." I stutter with tears now pouring down my cheeks, and with all of my might I push past Travis and run to the bathroom just a few feet away and lock the door. Keeping myself away from him. I sit down on the floor and put my head in my knees and weep uncontrollably.
"Fifi, I am so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you or to make you cry. Please unlock the door and come out. I'm sorry." Travis says sounding apologetic.
"No." I say barely enough to be heard.
"I am so sorry." I hear Travis say as he plops himself down on the ground and leans against the bathroom door.
"I can't believe you spoke to me like that." I say softly through the door.
"I am so sorry. I don't know what got into me." Travis says genuinely.
"I'm your fiancé..." I say sadly.
"Felicity, please know I am sorry. I didn't mean to be like that. I don't even know why I got upset. There isn't anything down there. I am so so sorry baby." Travis says sadly.
"I can't do this." I say with my voice shaky.
"C-Can't do what?" Travis asks concerned.
"All these lies and secrets and disrespect." I say as I get up off the ground and open the bathroom door.
"Secrets? What secrets?" Travis asks me confused.
"You and I both know you are aware of what is in that basement, but for the sake of our soon to be marriage I'll let it go. Whatever it is, it's clearly something you don't want me to know about or see. This is the only secret that will be between us. No more lies or disrespect okay?" I say sternly. Hoping my point gets across.
"No more lies." Travis says assuringly.
"I am going to finish fixing up breakfast. Go wash up. Today we plan our engagement party." I say as I walk back into the kitchen. Completely disregarding the bangs I heard earlier.I make us toast, bacon, eggs and coffee for breakfast and set it on the dining room table, just as Travis walks out wearing a white t-shirt, black jeans and blue sneakers and makes his way to sit.
"How'd you sleep baby?" Travis asks clearly making smalltalk.
"Just fine and you Travis?" I say with no emotion.
"Good. Again I am sorry about earlier." Travis says genuinely sorry.
"It is fine. I told you already. Now let it go. We have an engagement party to plan." I say happily as I eat my food. After eating breakfast Travis cleans up the kitchen and dining room while I wash up and get ready for the day. I chose to wear a black and white lace one piece with black heels.
I make my way into the lounge to grab Travis, where I find him sitting on the couch watching sports.
"Ready to plan an engagement party?" I say with excitement.
"With you, of course I am." Travis says as he winks at me.
"First we have to decide a few things." I say as I sit to think.
"Like what Fifi?" Trav asks looking lost.
"Who all are we inviting? I don't have much family.. But..but you do." I say with caution as I am well aware Travis hates talking about his family.Okay let me explain this to you. Travis is what you would call "rich" well his parents are. They are very wealthy people, but ever since I met Travis he never got along with any of his family. Not even his grandparents. I have only met his parents twice in the five years of us dating and his grandfather once. His brother Jared used to be a big part of our lives even though they never ever got along but when his parents cut Jared off for getting into drugs he used to always ask us for money..or worse..steal it. Although Jared has been clean for almost a year now I think since he got married to his wife Jade. Anyways back to reality...
"Well I was thinking I'd invite my mom(Kate), dad(Jason), Jared, Nanna(Mary) and Pops(Allen)." Travis says sounding slightly happy.
"Sure definitely. I think that is perfect." I reply with wide eyes.
"It won't be big, just like our wedding, but it will be perfect. Like you." Travis says as he rests his hand on mine.
"I was thinking.. Should we invite Leroy? He is still my step brother."
I say trying to make light of the situation.
"You can invite who you want baby. It's our day. Not only mine." Travis says to try make me feel better.
"Thank you my love. Oh, although we haven't seen each other for years I want to invite Stacey. She was my best friend." I say with a smile.
"Yes. Do that. I'll see if Kyle can make it. So it's set we've got our guests." Travis says with a huge smile on his face.
"Now we need to go to the craft store for invitations, decorations and a bunch of other stuff. We might as well go for lunch too." I say as get up and grab the car keys making my way to the front door.
"Okay, lets go then." Travis says as he locks the front door and we walk to the garage.-----------------------------------------------------------
