Unexpected

Chapter Nine

Amaya Bay

We return to the Alpha house and I feel an emptiness that I can't place. I go looking Gwen but she's nowhere to be found. My brother had been with his mate since he got here. I feel so lonely without him. So I go to the back yard to see this beautiful willow tree they have.

'Light bulb over the head !!', I yell excitedly in my mind.

I run inside grabbing my sketchbook and color pencils from my bag. Running back outside I sit facing the tree beginning to draw it. I used to draw a lot back home- it was my escape from reality just for a while. Getting lost in my drawing. I wasn't the depressed, hated girl-I was just a girl who drew. I block out everything just focusing on drawing.

"Mate what are you doing out here ?", Alpha Black says making me scream while jumping. I giggle looking up. The empty feeling fades as I get lost in him. Then I realize I've just been staring at him without saying anything. I jump from the grass giggling. For some reason I feel really happy right now forgetting about his past. Just thinking that he's here now with me. That he accepted me as his mate.

"Oh sorry I'm dazing out.", I say looking at him directly." I was just drawing the tree over there.", I say pointing at the willow tree. He looks at me smiling. I get an overwhelming urge to bear hug him but I hold myself.

'The mate bond is getting stronger.', I think to myself.

"Hey we have like an hour or so till the dinner. You think you can draw me sittin' under the tree?", He ask . I giggling looking down at my drawing. The tree is basically finished. I nod and he leans forward giving me a kiss on my forehead. He runs to the tree sitting down his head facing the other way. I giggle because he's trying too hard to look like a model.

"Hey look this way.", I call out quietly.  A smile twitched at the side of his lips.  He turns to me and I focus on the paper. Using Arctic's eye's I see his face clearly. First I start on the essence of his face then the little details. My cheeks heat up when the drawing starts to look like him. His beautifully scary face. His eyes that show the strength he has. His beautiful smile that is so rare- but once you see it you'll always remember it.  I know an hour past when Gwen announced that dinner almost ready. Alpha stands up jogging to me then plopping down in front of me. I immediately tense up from how close he is. He smell is driving me insane god it almost brings tears to my eyes.

"So let me see.", he says softly grabbing my sketch pad. His hand grazing mine leaving a feeling I've never felt before. Like a rush of energy flowing through my body. A wave of happiness flows over me something that I haven't felt in a long time. Happier than I've ever been. Almost as happy as I was when dad was still alive.

"This is beautiful Amaya.", he said in a genuine tone of admiration. That's when I noticed I've been looking at my hands this whole time.  I look up seeing him observing the drawing. I take the time to finally look at him. In all his glory. He is amazing-how can he even care about me like Gwen says. Alpha looks up at me, his eyes light up and I can't help but lean in. He leans in without hesitation. His scent hits me again in a deep wave as our eyes stare at each other's lips. My lips part aching for his lips to be against mine.  But then the nerves come in.

'I don't know how to kiss ! Oh my god he's going to reject me. He has experience !', I scream in my head. I look away but he cups my cheeks bringing me even closer to his face.

"Don't look away from me.",he says almost begging. I feel a blush take over my face and I look at his beautiful eyes.

"I don't know how to kiss Carter.", I whisper saying his name for the first time. "I've never kissed anyone before.", I finish averting my eyes to look anywhere but him. He gives a light chuckle and I feel my heart break.
