The Letter and Possible Friend?

Hey peeps! Hope you liked the last chapter! This this chapter will be in 1st person view as it is easier for me to write and it will be a week later, after the last chapter. I have taken a few things from the original book but I own none of it. Also, the place of The Leaky Cauldron is where it is in the 6th film. Enjoy the chapter!

(Harry's POV)
I wake up in my room that I've been in the last week. I got a reply from Dumbledore a day after I sent my letter saying that he's going to visit me on my birthday. I stand up and get dressed in the muggle clothes that I bought from a shop in Diagon Alley. I walk downstairs to see no one is awake yet. I shrug and grab some bread for toast. As the bread is cooking, I grab butter and jam from the fridge. I hear the toaster pop the toast out and grab a plate. I get the toast and slather the butter and jam on. By the time I finish, Aunt Petunia is in the kitchen making her husband and son breakfast.
"Good morning Aunt Petunia." I say as I place my plate into the sink.
"Good morning Harry. How did you sleep?" She asks. Ever since I told her and Vernon that I knew I'm a wizard, she's been nicer to me. I've been trying to be nicer to her but it's hard after 10 years.
"I slept pretty good. How did you sleep?" I ask in return. She just nods. As she's cooking, an owl flies in through the open window. I look at the letter attached and see that it's from Hogwarts. Must be my letter. I think to myself. I untie it and Aunt Petunia hands the owl a piece of bread, which he takes willingly and thankfully. After, he flies off and I sit down at the table. I open the letter adressed,
Mr. H Potter
Second Bedroom,
4 Privet Drive,
Little Whinging
Surrey

I open it and grab the first paper.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore
(Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc., Chf. Worlock, Supreme Mugwump, International Confed. Of Wizards)

Dear Mr Potter,

We are pleased to inform you that you have a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.

Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl by no later than 31 July.

3. One pair of protective glove (dragon hide or similar)
