The voice came from a familiar person. But that person wasn't alive anymore. Neither was a zombie either. Their black hair spread out to its full length as if it was floating in water. But everything else was sapped of colour. Their colourful dress, drained of all colour, once a beautiful royal blue that matched their eyes, now, both, a dull grey.
My arms were pushed apart as Crimson turned around to see what I was staring at.
"Come on, Crimson, Take a look at the person you left behind,"
Rocks and debris floated up next to the ghost. She was obviously a poltergeist.
"Take a look at the person who would have lived if you didn't disappear with you boyfriend!"
"EBONY. Crimson was off saving the world! Cut her some slack!"
"What use to you is she if she can't even save her best friend?"
"Shadow..." defeated, Crimson hung her head. "Ebony's right. I'm no use to you," Crimson pushed herself out of my arms and walked towards Ebony. Every step she took, the colder it got. I could feel the distance growing between us. Ebony was making Crimson question herself.
I did then only thing i thought would work with her, Ebony in life would never make Crimson Question herself. But in death? Death can destroy someone completely, so that when they come back, they are a diferent person altogether.
"ENOUGH! BE GONE FOUL DEMON,"
Crimsons eyes fluttered as Ebony disappeared. Her legs gave out and I caught her just in time.
"Come on my Princess,"
I carried her bridal style back to our car, placed her carefully in the backseat, then headed for the driver's seat. I put the keys in the ignition, put the car into drive, then headed quietly out onto the gravel road leading away from the Cemetery.
