Jack's POV

I woke up slowly, stretching my arms out over my head, yawning. I push the blanket off of me and throw my legs over the side of my bed, sitting up slowly. I run my hand through my hand through my bright green hair, rubbing my face. I stand up, grabbing my phone off my bedside table.

I check it to see it charged to 100%. No new messages. Not that I expected one to be there from him. He left me, he doesn't need me, he didn't love me. I unlock it and click on Spotify, turning on my Machine Gun Kelly playlist. Thankfully, my favorite song from him is on first, which is Alpha Omega. I smile and toss my phone on my bed, walking over to the closet.

I grab a plain black shirt and some black skinny jeans. I get dressed and run my fingers through my hair, slipping my black beanie over the top of my head. I slip my phone in my back pocket, blasting the music. My mom's not home, which she never is. She's a flight attendent so she obviously travels a lot. I grab my backpack off the couch and grab my keys off the key hanger.

I walk out to my car and hop in the driver's seat, putting my bag in the back seat. I buckle up and start my car, putting it in drive and take off from the curb. I turn down the street and park in front of my best friends house, plugging my phone into the aux cord, honking the horn.

She runs out of her front door and hops in, throwing her bag in the back with mine. "Hey you." She says, buckling her belt and then poking my cheek.

I smile and turn on my Pierce The Veil playlist. "Hey."

I put my car in drive again and pull away from her house, "Hey, wanna ditch today?" She asks, looking over at me.

"Won't mom be mad?" I ask, raising my eyebrow. I call her parents mine, since my dad left when I was 7 and my mom's never around.

She shakes her head smiling, "Nah. I told her I didn't feel like going to class today."

"And she's fine with it?" I say, turning into the Starbucks parking lot.

She nods and turns to me, "Can we please ditch?"

"Fine, fine." I say, parking and putting my hands up in surrender.

Mark's POV

I walk around the hallways, looking for that bright green hair that I see everyday. I wanna talk to him, I wanna meet him, I want to get to know him. I haven't seen him today though, which is making me kind of worried.

I see his friend James. I walk over to him and tap his shoulder, and he turns around. "How can I help you?"

"Where's Jack?" I ask, with a slight worry in my tone.

"Him and Danika ditched. Why?" He asks, crossing his arms.

"I need to talk to him, can you give me his number please?"

He thinks for a minute and nods, grabbing a piece of paper from his locker, writing it down. He folds it and hands it to me.

"Thanks." I say and he nods, and shuts his locker, walking away.

I pull out my phone and save the number as Jack 😍, debating on whether to text him or not.

Jack's POV

I finish the last drink of my chocolate chip frappachino, while driving to the next town over, to go to the mall. I pull into the mall parking lot and Danika hops out once I get stopped and parked.

I hear my phone ding and I pick it up, seeing a text from an unknown number. I hop out and open the text, locking my car.

~Text Conversation~

Unknown Number: Hey Jack

Jack😍: Who is this?

Unknown Number: It's Mark.. From like all of your classes.

-saves the number as Mark 🤔-

Jack😍: Oh. Hey. How'd you get my number?

Mark 🤔: Your friend James. I have your assignment, and Danika's too. I was wondering if I could come by and give them to you after school.

Jack 😍: Yeah sure. I'll be home then. My address is 521 Elm St.

Mark 🤔: Okay thanks. See you then.

Jack 😍: Yeah.

~End of Text Conversation~

I smile softly at the fact someone actually got my assignments for me. Hopefully this turns into a friendship, because I could use another friend.
