March 13th, at 5:59 a.m.
Silence.
March 13th, at 6:00 a.m.
A loud repetitive sound is heard, marking the break of dawn.

.
I turned and tossed around my bed, kicking away the covers that sheltered my body. The sound still continued, annoying the hell out of me. Without opening my eyes, I hastily turned my head to the right and lazily stopped the alarm clock that was repetitively ringing. I stayed half awake in my sleeping position for a while more before unintentionally falling back to sleep again.
Tick tock.
I opened my eyes to the extent of being able to steal a glance at the clock on the dressing table beside my bed. 6:30 a.m., it read.
Shit, I'm late.
I groggily threw the covers aside and stood up from my bed. I scurried to the bathroom to brush my teeth, take a short shower and wash up my face. I then changed into my ironed school uniform which was a combination of a white short sleeved T-shirt with a baby blue ribbon under the collar and a grayish blue knee length skirt. While brushing my tangled (see what i did there ;) ) up soft brown hair, I quickly darted down the flight of stairs with my pastel green school bag.
I set the comb aside before entering the kitchen, where a piece of toast topped with peanut butter and a glass of milk was sitting on the wooden table.
My mum always made me breakfast before she sets out for her work at 5. She works the morning shift in the hospital and comes back late at night, somewhere around 12 to 2 midnight. Sometimes I wished she would take a break from work and spend some time with me, but I know better than to think that. If it weren't for my useless father who had left us to be with some beautiful woman who made him go blind with fake love, mum could've been less stressful and actually even be happier.
I hurriedly chomped down on the piece of toast before taking big gulps of milk. Taking the empty plate and glass to the sink, I washed them carelessly with detergent and a sponge. After keeping them in the cupboard, I ran to the entrance to put on my white socks and sneakers. I locked the front door and made my way to the bus stop about kilometer away from here, while sneaking a glance at my watch.
Crap! It's already 7. School starts at 7:30. I'll probably make it if I run.
I broke into a run, dashing to the bus station and managed to get on the bus that was starting to leave. I tapped against the window sill, praying that the bus would go faster. Eventually, I arrived at the front of my high school and impatiently got out of the bus, accidentally bumping against other students. I scanned my surroundings quickly before making my way up the steps to the entrance, where many students were entering and leaving with books in their hands.
I kept my head down low, avoiding gazes and eye contact with other students as I entered the busy corridors. I looked at my watch again. It's 7:20. Wew, right on time. I walked towards my locker which was located near the entrance of my classroom. After I took out my books and kept unnecessary ones, I set foot into the classroom with my right hand on the sling of my bag. As I took my seat at the back of the classroom near the window, I could feel gazes from my other classmates, which I ignore.
Then the teacher came in and another day at hell started.
•••
"And that's it for today's class. Remember to refer to your notes." The teacher exclaimed before walking quickly out of our classroom.
Yeah, I'd want to get out of here too.
After the last period ended, I followed my classmates out of the classroom with my school bag over my shoulder. I stopped by my locker to shove my books in before I noticed something stuck in the small gap of the opening. I punched my combination code for my padlock and swung my locker door open. The unknown object fell to the ground without a sound before I managed to grab it. I knelt down and picked it up before anyone had caught sight of it.
I looked around the hallway, making sure nobody was close enough to see what I was holding onto. I brought my head back down and my eyes swept over the entire object, inspecting it. It was a piece of neatly folded pastel pink paper with an adorable bunny sticker in the middle to seal the opening. In other words, a letter.
I fumbled with the letter, cautiously tearing off the sticker before making a mental note to myself to paste it on the wall next to my desk. I opened the letter to reveal its contents and was taken aback at what I saw.
The letter was written in pencil and what I thought was the most cutest and neatest handwriting I had ever seen. Although it was somehow familiar, I couldn't get my head around it. The color of the paper had also faded to some degree, indicating that the sender had erased and rewrote it multiple times. I curiously read the whole letter and slightly chuckled at the name of its sender.

To the one and only,
Are you alright?
Sincerely,A mysterious pink glazed doughnut.
Wait no,
A mysterious and worried pink glazed doughnut.

My head was full of thoughts, one being slightly terrified at the possibility of someone figuring out my secret, and another being curious with a twinge of excitement. It was mostly the second one.
I looked up from the letter and folded it back to its original shape before stuffing it carefully into my school bag. I decided to keep it, for my own pleasure. Then I walked down the hallways past the lockers, head in the clouds, and came to conclusion that I wouldn't go to the abandoned block today.
Maybe that letter wasn't for me, but even if that is so,
that was the best thing I had seen in ages.
