UNEDITED SORRY

Silver and Cole shared worried glances as I stood up from my seat. Not even a second had gone by when they each ran opposite directions, Silver taking me with her. She rushed me to the end of the staircase.

"Go inside my room and lock it, don't open it unless you hear five repeated knocks. If you here my mom or keys go inside the closet, lock it, and don't make a sound okay?" Silver spoke, way to fast.

I didn't get to respond because she was already running in the direction Cole had went to. Following her orders, I ran up the steps. Of course with my luck I would stumble on my dress and trip. I caught myself on the rail, and continued my dash to safety. I yanked open Silver's room door before slamming it closed and locking it. I was breathing hard as I slid down the back of the door. For some reason I felt cold...

I got up off the floor to go get the throw blanket off of Silver's bed, but I stumbled. I felt unbalanced. I looked forward into the mirror and gasped. I was one heel short! Where had it gone?

"Oh-no. Oh-no." I repeated looking all over for the shoe, but stopped in my tracks as I heard the familiar feminine voice.

"Whose heel is that?" The twin's mom asked. My ear was pressed against Silver's bedroom door.

"Ugh, mine!" Silver responded, her voice higher than usual.

"Silver, honey, you don't wear heels."

"Ugh, ugh, ugh-"

"She just bought it!" Cole saved his sister.

"You guys know we don't have the money for that. Is there someone here? A friend? A rich friend? Oh please tell me it's a rich friend?" Their mother almost sounded... excited?

"Oh, the friend is rich alright." Cole snorts a laughter.

"Huh?"

"Ugh..." Silver can't lie for her life.

After that I started to here footsteps getting louder and louder.

"Mum wait!" Cole yelled. Mum?

"Mum?" His mother echoed my thoughts. Ha-ha he used my word, atta boy! I laughed a little.

"What was that?" Their mother demanded.

"What was what?"

"That laugh."

"What laugh?"

"The one I just heard!"

"There was no laugh."

"Damn it Cole!" I heard a 'ouch' and then the footsteps, no stomping, get louder. I stepped away from the door as I saw the golden doorknob turn.

"I hear heels! Whose in this room?" Their mother's voice was loud. Then I heard the footsteps getting more and more faint.

"Mom, what are you looking for?" Silver found her voice again.

"My keys."

Oh-no, no, no! I quickly took off my heel, sliding it deep under Silver's bed before running into the closet. I pushed and pushed, trying to pull myself into the narrow closet but something was blocking me from doing so. It was then I realized that my dress had a cage underneath it. Damn it, damn it, damn it! I heard the footsteps of their mother once again. I lifted myself to reveal the cage holding my dress. Now, how do you get out of this thing? The footsteps were getting louder. I sat on my ass and kicked my legs out in front of me, hoping it will cause the cage to slide off my legs. Successfully it slid off pretty simply and I quickly dashed to the closet. Since the top layer, otherwise known as the bulgy layer, had ripped a little I easily slipped on it. The footsteps had come to a halt and I heard the jingle of keys again. I quickly got inside the closet and locked it. I stopped breathing when I heard the door open and the foot steps walk in. I feel like I'm in a freaking horror movie.
