Tucking all my hair in, I finally managed to get my helmet on. So when Silver said Paintball I imagined a small room with plastic, blow-up walls scattered inside it. Turns out they meant take a thirty minute ride to a forest-looking place to be in the next damn Hunger Games! I had remembered Silver's mom saying that they didn't have much money so I asked Silver how they afforded to play in some woods-looking place. She simply shrugged and pointed to Deacon.

"Alex, you ready?" Silver was next to me adjusting her paintball suite. We were given camouflage pants paired with black long-sleeved shirts and Silver secretly packed us black sneakers.

"Ready Freddy!" I beam at her. She giggles while shaking her head at me. Running around hiding behind trees in a foreign area was definitely my forte. I grabbed a hold of Silver's hand and ran up to the main grounds where a guy who works here will tell us and our opponents the rules. Cole and Deacon are already shaking hands with our opponents. There are two guys and two girls. I walk up to the smallest who looks like she is in the eighth or ninth grade to shake her hand.

"Hi, I'm Holly!" The young brunet shakes my hand. I give her a friendly squeeze before introducing myself.

I then walk over to a older girl to introduce myself.

"Mia." The blue-haired, emo girl shakes my hand. She is holding hands with a blonde preppy boy. He shakes my hand and kisses my knuckles before introducing himself as Keegan.

Lastly a emo boy, who I thought was Mia's boyfriend introduces himself as Aaron. He's actually pretty cute if I do say so myself.

I walk back to my team as we listen to the rules the of the game. To be honest all I was hearing was 'and blah blah blah-blah blaaah blah-ba-blah blah'. After he finished explaining the rules he told us to go behind brick walls located on the opposite side of the field so we can't see each other. I reach for Silver's hand before I realize she is linked to Deacon, leaving me alone with Cole. I let go of her hand and she sends me a questioning look which I just shake my head at. When the signal goes off I prop my gun up and run. I don't know exactly where I'm going but adrenaline shoots through my veins, causing me to run even faster. I look around me before spotting a bush and I crouch down behind it. I spit the loose hairs that found their way into my mouth out and adjust my shorts that are far to big for me. I peek out the corner of the bush to see two people practically crawling over to our side. I squint and recognize the to people to be Aaron and Holly. I hop from tree to bush to tree and back to bush to get closer to them while staying out of sight. I watch my preys' heads jerk in different directions so fast I'm surprised they haven't gotten whiplash. I slowly bring my gun out and aim at Aaron who is closest to me. My finger grazes the trigger and I suck in a breath as Holly's brown eyes meet mine.

Her innocent expression turns into a deadly one as she whips around and before my nerves-signals could travel from my brain to my feet telling them to move, she got down on one knee, propped up her gun, and shot me right in the middle of my chest. I swear the whole thing happened in slow motion! My jaw falls to the ground as she turns back around and looks for the rest of my group. Did that just happen? Either I'm really bad at this or she's a pro at this.

I shake the thoughts away on how of an expert Holly is at this game and return back into game mood. Which is code for run as fast as you can and hide behind a large object. As I was running I noticed that Aaron had spotted me. Still running, I took a glance back and saw Aaron with a small smirk playing on his lips and his gun hoisted up pointing at me. Before he could shoot I jumped over a bush, and rammed into something hard. I looked around to see that I was in some three-wall contraption made out of brick. Before I could turn around a hand was clasped onto my mouth and a hand snaked around my waist, pulling me backwards into a person.
