Meanie's POV
Dan follows behind James as he carried me to his car. It was a black Shelby Mustang with two lime green streaks on only the right side. It was a beautiful car.
Dan opened the door and James ducked his head and laid me down in the back seat. He shut the door and got on the drivers seat and we drove off to the hospital.
The whole car ride no one spoke. Just me, whimpering everytime we hit a speed bump. We eventually arrived in front of the ER section of the hospital. Dan got out of the car and took me with him while james parked the car. Dan then got a wheelchair and wheeled me into the hospital. I have always love going in wheelchairs. They don't make me feel old but the make me feel like I'm comfortably sitting on a chair while it's flying through a building. I always found them fun. Once I started acting like a 5 year old that was riding a bike, Dan just laughed at me and headed towards the front.
"Hi, my friend has a broken leg and she needs immediate medical attention." Why does Dan use fancy words? Why can't he just say 'hey, my friend has a leg that snapped in half. Can we make it unsnapped? I could honestly see him saying that.
"Sure you can come with me," a nice lady that was sitting at the front replyed. She led us behind two big doors. We eventually got to a room and Dan hoisted me onto the hospital bed. Not long after I herd a familiar voice calling mine and Dan's name. Was James really acting like a lost puppy on Wonderland? I chuckled as I thought of James being a literal dog in Wonderland. Dan looked confused as I was laughing and there was no context, but he went out into the hall and found James.
The doctor eventually arrived. "Hey, how ya'll doin today?" "Good," I responded. "Alright. I'm goin to need you to fill out this form and then we'll check ya out Ms..." "Rosel," I finished. "Ms.Rosel what a beautiful name." He smiled and walked out of the room.
I filled out all the information and when the doctor arrived again I handed it to him. "Broken leg uh," "Yes sir." "What is the cause," he replyed. I didn't want to tell the truth "She fell out of the tree house her and her little cousin were building. There was no railing and Melanie being as clumsy as she is, she fell." Dan made it sound like it was a real story that actually happened. He could tell I didn't want to tell the truth. "Ow, that must've hurt." At that moment I realized no one except me knew how I broke my leg, because I never told Dan or James. "Yeah, yeah it did." I responded. Well let's check out your leg." When he lifted my sweats I was wearing up, it reviled half of the bruises on my leg. "Wow you must have fallen on rocks or something." The doctor said worriedly and suspiciously. He inspected my legs a bit more. "Yep that leg is broken. Let's get some x-rays on it and figure out where." Yay I get to go back on the wheelchair! I got excited and this time James laughed at me.
The doctor did x-rays and I was starting to get worried that he would find out. About 10 minutes of pain and having to twist and turn my leg we headed back to the room. We waited a long time and eventually the came back with the x-rays and papers in his hand."Ok we got the x-rays back, and there is something very strange going on. Um, how far of the ground was the tree?" Uh oh. "About 8 feet maybe 9." "Well," the doctor began. "With the way your leg is broken, it doesn't match up with the scenario provided. The way you broke your legs couldn't have been gravity, and with the perfectly lined bruise of where your leg is broken makes me believe that it definitely wasn't gravity. This had to have been force applied by something. Let me ask again, how did you break you leg?" Oh shit. I had a face of surprise and horror. I had to tell him. If I didn't, he would problobly call the police on me or something bad. How was I going to tell him. What was I going to tell him. My mind was running at a thousand miles per hour. "Ok," James said. "Let's tell him the truth."
