Everyone got out of their seats as the final bell rang, signaling that the school day was over. I slipped out of my seat and grabbed my bookbag from beside my chair, putting it on my back. I hated carrying this thing around, even if we could put most of our books inside out lockers, they were too small to fit all the heavy shit I carried around. I sighed as I walked toward the door to leave but was stopped by my teacher, "Amaya, may I talk to you for a second?" Mrs. Martin, my math teacher, spoke. I nodded my head and walked over to her desk, "Course, is something wrong?"
"I'm afraid so, have you checked your grade recently?" Mrs. Martin asked, her hands folded neatly on her desk. I started to fiddle with my fingers, nibbling on the inside of my cheek, "Yeah.." I mumbled, glancing at Mrs. Martin. Now before you start making fun of me for practically failing my beginners math class, let me just say that I don't get Mrs. Martin's teaching style at all. That's the only reason I have such a bad grade. Oh, and me being absent like once a week doesn't help either.
"So you're aware of the fact that you have an F?" Mrs. Martin said and I could practically hear the disappointment in her voice, "Yes, but I promise I'll fix it by the end of the quarter!" I spoke fast, hoping that she'd believe me. A sigh left Mrs. Martin's lips, "Amaya, you keep saying that but you never do it. You had a D for the whole first semester, and now it's almost the beginning of the fourth and final quarter of the school year. Your grade needs to be fixed or you'll have to retake the 12th grade. You need a tutor." I whined as she said the word 'tutor', "Mrs. Martinnnnnn," I whined like a 6 year old, stomping my feet childishly. Mrs. Martin chuckled softly, "I know, sweetheart but I refuse to let you fail. I've the perfect student to tutor you, as well. He's in another one of my classes, I'm not sure if you know him. His name is Connor Davis."
I froze in my spot, my heart was ready to jump out of my chest. Connor, my ex boyfriend who pretty much hates me at this point, was going to tutor me. "Y..Yeah, I think I know him," I mumbled, my gaze moving to the ground. My heart was racing and my cheeks were growing hot. Did Connor even know who he was tutoring? Or that he was tutoring anyone in the first place? "Ah, that's great! I've not told Connor yet but I doubt that he'll mind, he's such a sweetheart." Mrs. Martin spoke with a smile on her face. All I could do was nod my head. After a few moments, I finally spoke up, "I better get going, my brother's probably wondering where I am. Bye, Mrs. Martin." And with that, I practically ran out of the classroom.

I found Hayden waiting for me with his boyfriend on a bench like he normally did. When Hayden saw me, he got up from the bench and walked towards me, "Where the hell have you been? You never come out this late." Hayden complained, causing me to roll me eyes, "I'll tell you on the way home, okay?" I sighed and brushed past him, starting to walk home myself knowing Hayden would catch up with me pretty quick. I heard Hayden and his boyfriend say bye to eachother then I heard Hayden jogging up beside me, "What happened?" He asked and I just shook my head.
"C'mon, tell me. I'm your brother, I know practically everything that goes on in your life. Tell me," Hayden demanded and I let out a sigh before telling him the story as we walked home together.

I unlocked the front door and walked inside as I finished telling Hayden everything that happened and how I felt about Connor and the whole situation. Hayden walked in behind him, a look of shock and confusion on his face, "What the hell." He mumbled and I couldn't help but chuckle at his reaction, "Yeah, I know. So I have to have someone who pretty much hates me, tutor me until I get my grade up. And all the while, I don't think I can mention how I feel or anything about our relationship. So I'm pretty much screwed." I huffed and tossed my backpack onto the couch, "I'm going to my room, just let the girls in when they get here. Please." I mumbled as I practically ran up to my room, closing the door behind me.
What the hell am I going to do.

It was about 5 pm when I heard several knocks coming from the front door. "I've got it!" Hayden said as I heard him walk down the staircase. A sigh left my lips as I leaned back against my headboard. The fact that Connor had to tutor me was still on my mind, it'd been on my mind since Mrs. Martin told me. No matter how hard I tried to focus on something different, the thought of Connor seemed to always find it's way into my mind.
"And we're here!" Kendall exclaimed as her, Courtney and Kristina practically barged into my room. I looked up from my laptop and over at them, giving them a sly smile. "Oh no, what's wrong?" Kristina questioned, walking over and sitting at the edge of my bed. "Did Connor get a new girlfriend?" Courtney chimed in. "Do you have cramps?" Kendall added. I laughed softly, "No, and no. I just got some not-so-good news from Mrs. Martin today," I replied, shrugging my shoulders as I opened up Spotify and played Believer by Imagine Dragons at a low volume.
"What is it? Are you failing? Are you gonna be held back?" Kristina threw all these questions at me. "Uh.. well, I am failing but that's not the worst thing.." I mumbled, looking down as I started fiddling with my fingers. Courtney and Kendall then walked over and sat on my bed, their eyebrows raised, "Amaya.. what the hell is it?" Courtney asked. I sighed softly, "Connor has to tutor me." I mumbled.
All three of them were in complete shock, "Are you serious?" They said in unison. I nodded my head in response. "Well shit." Courtney laughed. "Y'know what.. let's play truth or dare to get all of our minds off of this." Kristina suggested as she ran her fingers through her hair. I nodded my head, "Okay sounds good."
We all get in a circle type of shape on my bed. "I'll go first!" I exclaimed and sat up a bit straighter. "Okay.. Kendall! Truth or dare?" I asked, stifling a giggle. "Dare!" Kendall grinned, rubbing her hands together. "Alright, I dare you to flash Hayden," I said, laughing along with the two other girls. Kendall shrugged and slipped off the bed, "Alright, easy enough." She said nonchalantly and walked out of my room and down the hall to Hayden's. Kendall knocked on the door and it opened not long after. Kendall then lifted up her shirt and flashed my younger brother before pulling it back down and running back to my room, closing the door as we all laughed uncontrollably.

8 pm
"Alright.. Amaya! Truth or dare?" Courtney said with a grin. "Truth," I replied, causing the girl's to groan, "Nonono, you've been doing truth all night. You're getting a dare." Courtney ordered and I whined, "Fineee."
"I dare you to make Connor fall in love with you again, then break his heart all over again." Courtney said nonchalantly. My eyes widened, I was completely taken back by her words, "You're kidding me right? I can't do that. I can't hurt him again." I shook my head, "No, I'm not doing it."
"Please, Maya. It's a dare, and if you fall in love with him again, then I'll call it off. Okay?" Courtney negotiated. I sighed before hesitantly nodding my head, "Fine, I'll do it." All the girl's cheered, except for me. I was screwed and I knew it, because it'll be nearly impossible for me not to fall in love with him again if I never stopped loving him in the first place.
