The Victory Village

"Good morning, Katniss. How are you feeling?" Peeta said to me as I walked down the stairs that early winter morning. I had been feeling sick the night before, and Peeta had made me dinner, and tucked me in bed. "Much better now," I said.

"I checked on you a few times last night. You looked alike you were having peaceful dreams." He smiled, as if he was thinking of his own peaceful dreams. If he has any.

"Yes, I dreamed about Prim. And Rue. They were holding hands in the meadow in spring, and they seemed to be beckoning me to come with them." I sighed. "They were so happy."

"I'm sure they are very happy now," Peeta said gently, walking over, touching my cheek, comforting me. "They are in a better place now, Katniss."

"Why don't we have some breakfast?" I said, eager to get my mind off of the past. "I'm starving."

"I already started cooking some eggs and brought some bread from the bakery." Peeta said.

"Great. Thank you, Peeta." I said happily.
