*The original is "What About Your Friends" by TLC ( Ooooooohhh... On The TLC Tip [1992] )

* This song is meant for everyone that may like any type of art from another decade, century, or other genres not included in pop culture and might have been told repeatedly to change by peers or society in general*

*I wrote this because for an end of the semester review last year because  my language arts teacher included a "definition and example" portion of the study guide, so while listening to the song,(One of  the best songs by them personally) , I decided to write the chorus of my version, which explains the extreme similarities. While at a friend's house on the last day of school, I decided to create the rest of it. So here it is:

*Intro with the harmony and the sound*

*Verse 1* (Funk)
Every now and then I feel a little crazy.
That's not the way I'm supposed to feel.
Sometimes my mind tends to get hazy
I can't tell what year it is. Or what decade it is either.
People try to say I act a little retro
But that's just a figure of speech to me.
They tell me I changed just cause I got older
But if we were cool before, then you're still cool with me.

*Chorus* (Harmony, mostly R&B)
What about your trends?
Will they stand the test of time?
Where will they be in about 10 years?
What about your trends?
Are they gonna be around forever?
Where do you expect the  popularity to be in about 2 decades?

*Rap*
Well is it me?
Or can it be that I'm a little too crazy, so to speak.
Hypothetically say, I think we're living in 1992 in the 20th century when in reality it's the 21st?
Only build a time machine.
Which results in the 20th century.
But think about it, I wasn't thought of in this time period.
So how am I supposed to live in this new society?

*Verse 2* (Funk and some R&B)
Every now and then I get a little too open.
I let other people influence me so.
I never thought that they'd try to change me
Don't you know when times were boring we were humming the same song.
I'll never let another get that close to me.
See, I've grown a lot stronger now.
Sometimes you notice
And then you'll see
That whatever you're comfortable it'll come to you naturally

*Chorus* (Harmony,  mostly R&B)
What about your trends?
What about them trends?
Will they stand the test of time?
Where will they be in about 10 years?
Oohh
What about your trends?
What about your trends?
Are they gonna be around forever?
Where do you expect the  popularity to be in about 2 decades?

*Rap*
Is it time for me?
Or can it be that I'm a little too crazy, so to speak.
Hypothetically say, I think we're living in 1992 in the 20th century when in reality it's the 21st?
Only build a time machine.
Which results in the 20th century.
But think about it, I wasn't thought of in this time period.
So how am I supposed to live in this new society?

*Chorus* (Harmony,  mostly R&B and ad-libs)
What about your trends?
Will they stand the test of time?
Where will they be in about 10 years?
What about your trends?
Are they gonna be around forever?
Where do you expect the  popularity to be in about 2 decades?

*Verse 3 (R&B)*
People try to say I act a little crazy
I wouldn't change, not for no new day
I'll be comfortable with you, if you're comfortable with me. (Yeah yeah)
Even though I might seem open
don't give you no reason to  not know me
That's not the way that I want anyone to ever think of me.

*Chorus* (Harmony, mostly R&B and ad-libs)
What about your trends?
Will they stand the test of time?
Where will they be in about 10 years?
What about your trends?
Are they gonna be around forever?
Where do you expect the  popularity to be in about 2 decades?
What about your trends? (What about your trends?)
Will they stand (Will they stand the test?)
Where will they be in about 10 years? Oooo
