Ptff, This one I did at the start of the year I believe. I've actually redrawn it quite often, including a version I did for my art class which I'll be painting traditionally for a change.
This person is an old oc of mine Ryota Kurosawa, funnily enough that'd translate to "Thick/Clear, big, black swamp" I find that hilarious. He's honestly my favourite oc of all time.
Now, over the years I've learnt a lot of creating artwork.
First of all anatomy and composition of the artwork, shading and atmosphere the importance of the colours you use so that your eyes don't bleed.
Taking Visual art reminded me about the thought that goes into finished pieces.
What's the point of your piece?
Of course you'll have those sketches here and there, but what about fully fleshed out pieces? Does it convey an emotion? A surreal world
To dream about? A story? A question? A message? This connection is there to have viewers further drawn to your artwork I suppose, it can add more depth into a drawing. Opens you up to think about how you can convey it, which is why I constantly redraw this image. It was never really intended to be a fully fledged drawing but it ended up being one.
What did I try putting into this piece I've shown here? Well it'd probably be "Think" and/or "calm"
Maybe you might not understand it, you may fully understand this or you don't give a damn and think it's pointless.
I'm giving my honest opinion, two years ago I produced an artwork for visual art. As of now I still adore this artwork, the fact that I actually planned this artwork out, put more thought in how to compose it made me feel incredibly proud of myself. Sure there's a few flaws here and there but in comparison to the art I did in that year it's definitely one of, if not my best artworks.
The message underneath it is metaphorically breaking out of all your troubles, I used a broken glass barrier and a recent oc of mine, Isaac Tate who you may or may not remember.
He's less edgy now, the true edge lord is Ryota obviously.
But that's all I really got for now I guess, if you want me to discuss something feel free to suggest a topic. I'll see you then.
