~Daniel~
I'm so fücking proud of you, Xavier.
I'm also fücking pissed at you for not giving me a heads-up.
Still, about 51% proud of you.
I dematerialised to the mansion with Victoria. Magic wasn't something I did too often, so a small part of me was scared that I'd screw it up.
Worst case scenario : I get stuck in her body like a cliche chick flick horror movie crossover.
Worst, not because being a girl meant I had to figure out how a bra worked. But rather because Xavier would murder me if I so much as touched her äss by accident.
Even if it would technically be my äss.
"I say Marco." I felt a tap on my shoulder. "You say "Victoria is the great and powerful wizard who saved my life.""
I smiled, opening my eyes. We were both at the foyer, in thankfully different bodies, all limbs and stuff intact.
And finally, I got one of her references.
"This ain't Kansas, Dorothy."
Victoria was so surprised, she actually looked a little like a pufferfish.
"Way to go, Princess Dory." She gave me a high five. "So ten minutes after you stopped being a Prince, you looked up all the movies from the kids section on Netflix? You really were busy all this time."
I ran a hand through my hair, as we walked to the door.
"My mom used to show me the pictures in the book." I said, shrugging. "She didn't really know how to read, but she always made sure I had a new book when she could afford it."
I didn't talk much about my childhood, not even to Xevi. I honestly didn't know why I was telling her this.
Maybe it was just my way of saying "thank you" for saving my life.
Or maybe you're just a sucker for sob stories.
"Never mind." I said awkwardly. "Um, do you want to talk about the weather?"
Victoria rolled her eyes.
"It's cloudy with a chance of seriously heavy emotional baggage." She lowered her voice and looked at me, oddly concerned. "Are you going to be okay with all this? Do you have any family to go back to?"
"Yes." I lied without hesitating. "I'm going back to Valkyria."
"Good." Victoria said, shifting her feet. "That's good."
The door opened and Marcus stood there. I knew from the look on his face that he already knew what happened. He didn't say anything for a long time, but followed me in silence as I headed back to my room one last time.
Victoria was behind me too.
Great. Let's all just do the Choo Choo Train too while we're still in line.
As I packed up a few clothes and grabbed as much loose money as I could, Marcus did nothing. He was about as useful as the handless statutes at the museum.
