I looked in my dad's possessions. I felt a tear roll down my cheek. I missed him so much. I lost him when I was five. He specifically told mum to Let me see possessions when I was 16. I saw a picture of him in one of the books he had. Mum always said that I looked like him. We had the same cropped brown hair, same deep green eyes and the same body structure.
I sat on the floor of me and my sisters room. It was split right down the middle with a curtain for privacy. My side of the wall had gray walls while Emily (my sister) had her side painted a crisp white.
Her bed sheets had water color design and her bed was a soft mint and was already made. She has lots of pastel colored cushions, a hanging egg chair, a dresser, a desk and a chair. Everything on her side was clean and organised with lots Polaroid pictures plastered over her bed in the shape of a heart. To complete her room, she had some fairy lights covering the border of a dashboard and a huge white bookshelf. She wants to be a photographer when she grows up.
My room on the other hand was messy and a little dirty. My bed was not made with dark blue sheets and cushions. I had a bean bag chair with a dresser, desk, chair and bookshelf. Stacks of paper were every where and for some reason, a smell was coming from the heap of clothes on the floor.
Dad had a small note attached to a small crystal amulet. It was a yellow with bronze chain that seemed to hang perfectly around my neck. The note said:
Dear Joshua,
This is a special amulet. What ever you do, never take it off. Do this for me.
Love,
Martin/dad
I put on the amulet and I felt a warm glow of power surge through me. It made me feel something I didn't know. So natrual, so perfect, so... Alive.
Was it just me, or did my amulet glow a bit?
Without any warning, a voice echoed in my mind.
