It was the first day of school. I was hyped. I might have been starting a new school but at least I could make some friends. My old school was horrible. I was bullied, labeled a nerd, hopeless in gym (though I was actually really good. I was threatened into it.) And probably no one knew me. I could reinvent myself. I pulled on a blue shirt with black jeans and gray converse shoes. I went to the dining table and wolfed down my mom's pancakes. Emily stared at me. "You know, there are a lot more civilised ways to eat food Joshua." Emily nagged. She was wearing a white crop top with Jean shorts and a pair of mint converse. Her strait blonde hair was let down. She wore some make up and was looking at me as if I was an animal. "Emily don't be rude. Joshua, pancakes don't attack. It's food." Mom said in a tired voice. I might not like my sister but I respected my mum. She worked three jobs to keep me and Emily under a roof. She sipped her coffee and picked up my dish. "I'll do the dishes." I said. Mum gave me a grateful smile and said "I need to go now. Be good." She picked up her jacket and left. Emily grabbed her backpack and waited for me while I got the dishes done. We stepped out the door and walked to school.
When we got to school, it was huge. The brick walls were a great shade of cream that contrasted beautifully. Did I mention I was at the best school in England? I also really like architecture. I went to the school reception and got my time table. My first class was History. I went to my locker and put in the pass code when I saw a girl with dark hair and grayish blue eyes. She was really pretty. She wore a white jean jacket with a sleeveless with shirt and black jeans and leather boots. Around her neck was a amulet a lot like mine but it was tourquoise. She went over to the locker beside me and put on in her code. All I did was state like a idiot. "Hey! You must be new. I never really saw you around. I'm Catnis. I'm on the cheer team. What's your name?" Asked the girl or Catnis. I opened my mouth but no sound came out. She wore no make up and was about a inch shorter. She looked at me confused. I finally managed to open my mouth and speak. "Hey. Joshua Hamilton. I am new, moved here last year." I said. "What's your first class?" She asked. "History." I answered. "Cool I got that too. Follow me." She said. She opened her locker, grabbed a red binder and walked off. I struggled to follower her through the amount of students. But miraculously, everyone made a path for her to walk. Most said hey to her or what's up. I could tell she was popular. We made it to a classroom and sat down. She pulled out her binder and a bronze colored pen with a top that had crystals inside. She grabbed a book from her bag and started reading until the teacher came.
