I looked at my mum's birthday present for me. Longing ached in my heart. She saved it for me and my brother's 16th birthday. He got her old study books. She wanted to be a surgeon. He never got rid or it ever since. He's now in Austria studying to be a surgeon. I eagerly opened the box. Inside was a gorgeous tourquoise amulet with a bronze chain. Next two it was a small leather bound book. I placed it on the shelf I saved for my mother's belongings. I found a note attached to the book in the front with tape. I chewed on my brown hair like i did when i got excited. I had my clear grayish blue eyes glued to the note.

I grabbed the amulet and looped it around my neck. I casually grabbed the book from the box and read the first page.

Next to it, it had a water color illustration of my amulet. I read the other four amulets till I reached the last one. It had a yellow amulet and it said 'Amulet of life' all it had was a question mark. Things were getting weirder and weirder. Suddenly, a eerie sound filled my ears.
