(Nick's POV)
I stopped at the front door, and bit my lip. "I don't think I can do this." Drea smiled at me, and squeezed my hand. "Come on Nick. You've got this." I half smiled at her, and followed her and Chris into the house. When we entered, I noticed Gab on the couch, holding Jakey in her lap and reading him his favorite book, Thomas the Train. "Hey Gab!" Drea smiled, and sat next to her. "Hey!" She smiled, and continued reading to Jakey. I tried to quietly exit the room, but Chris pulled me back. "Hey Gab, you should come outside and swim with us." She looked over at him, trying to ignore me. "I wish I could, but I came here to babysit Jakey. Maybe when he's napping." "Gabbie I wanna go swimming!" Jakey said, hopping down from her lap. "Okay cutie!" She smiled at him, and they walked upstairs. I let out the breath I didn't realize I was holding in, and looked at Chris. "She hates me." "Yeah, she does. But don't worry bro, we're gonna change that." He patted my back, then joined hands with Drea and walked to my backyard. I followed behind them, and sighed. Please let this work out...
(Gabrielle's POV)
Why. Why did Jakey have to say he wanted to swim? I grabbed his swim trunks, and handed them to him. "Here cutie, can you put them on yourself?" He nodded, and looked up at me. "Gabbie?" "Yes cutie?" I smiled. He pulled me down so I was sitting on his bed, and stood in front of me. "Are you and Nick mad at each other?" I sighed, and tried to find a way to tell him. "Yeah, cutie... But don't worry! I love you still! And I always will!" "Do you love Nick still?" Jakey asked, his eyes getting teary. I sighed, and nodded. "Yeah, cutie. A lot. But that's a secret, okay? You can't tell anyone." Jakey nodded, and pretended to zip his lips and throw away the key. I laughed, and picked him up. "Let's go swim cutie!" Jakey cheered as I walked with him, but one thing was on my mind. If it was obvious to Jakey I still loved Nick, was it obvious to everyone else? I sighed, and let Jakey run outside. I don't know how much longer I can pretend I don't miss him...
