"Jess this is stupid." Melanie states.
"Mel, I have to know."
"Did you see the way he was looking at you the other day? The boy's head over heels."
"But what if he's not?"
"He IS."
"Whatever."
"Fine, I'll help you make a plan."
"Okay. Step one..." I pull out a notepad from my desk. "I've got nothing."
"Ooh. I know, I'll talk to him and see."
"Okay. Plan A, Mel talks to him." I mumble as I write it down.
"Plan B?"
"Kiss him."
"What? No. That doesn't make sense."
"Yes it does Jess. If he kisses you back he has some sort of feelings for you, if not then he doesn't."
She has a point.
"Fine but only if you can't get it out of him, because I don't want to lose him as a friend and make things awkward."
"Deal."
"So. Which movie are we watching today?"
"MEAN GIRLS!!!!!!" I put in the DVD and hit play.
We spent the next couple hours quoting the movie at each other, it's sort of a competition. Like Who can remember what they say next? I always remember more than her. This time she got two before me and I got four before her, the rest we said in synch. After the movie she made a joke about it.
"Four for you Jessie O'Connell, you go Jessie O'Connell."
"And none for Gretchen Weiners, BYE."
"I swear you are the only person who ever says that part of the line."
"Booo, you whore."
"Whatever. I want food."
"Then get some food. You know where the kitchen is, and I'm pretty sure you have legs."
"Come with me." I stared at her, a blank look gracing my face. "Pwease?", she said, jutting out her bottom lip. "Pretty pretty please with a cherry on top." I shook my head. "Two cherries. Three cherries! FOUR CHERRIES? WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME WOMAN???"
"Ok fine! But only because I love you." I said sending a wink her way.
"Fine by me." She replied and skipped down the stairs humming. I shook my head slightly at her antics, but followed her to the kitchen.

The next Monday Melanie promised to talk to Zac. So during lunch, when neither of them showed up on time, I figured that was what was going on. I sat down at the table and tried to make conversation with the rest of the populars. But all they would talk about was stupid stuff like, how Selena Gomez is dating the Weeknd. Newsflash, nobody cares!
"Hey Jess." Melanie says as she sits down across the table, allowing Zac to sit beside me.
"Hey." Zac says. He looks almost nervous.
"Hey." I say.
What happened? Does he like me?
I raise an eyebrow at Melissa, she just rolls her eyes at my impatience.
"What?" asks Zac.
"What?" Melanie and I say in unison.
"Why did you roll your eyes."
"Because Jess is just picking at her salad like she always does. Why do you even get a salad if you aren't going to eat it?"
Nice save.
"It's not like I don't eat, I only like the crunchy lettuce."
"Whatever." I just smirk in return.
After we finish eating I start to head to my locker, but Zac gently grabs my arm. When I turn around to face him he just tilts his head toward the door, and does one of those weird nod things. I follow him outside, and he seems even more nervous than he did in the lunchroom.
"So why are we out here?" I ask.
"You'll see." His voice comes from behind me, sending shivers down my spine. As I turn around to face him, my breath catches in my throat at the proximity of our faces, just about an inch away from kissing distance. His head is bent down to my height, and mine tilted up towards his.

Hey guys!
I know y'all hate me right now, but I had to leave it on a cliffhanger.
I'm sorry the chapter is so short, but I almost didn't update at all. Hey, a cliffhanger is better than no update right? Right? No. okay.
TEASER:
Sorry the last one had the wrong teaser, so the next chapter will be in Zac's POV.
Why do you think he is so nervous? What happens next? Comment what you think.
Love you!
XOXO ~ Emma
