Hello! New book. I'm excited. Okay. I'm gonna change the story cover because right now it looks kinda bad to me, but I'll do that later. Okay enjoy!
Once upon a time, that phrase signals that the story isn't real, it's fiction; people like to believe this one was too. The phrase also signals that there will be a happy ending at the end, therefore it is very inappropriate to use it in this story:
Daniel walked along the halls of his school, which were lined with lockers hidden by the crowded students. He went to a relatively good school that had relatively good people (for the most part). Dan had a couple people he sat at lunch with and would talk every now and then between classes if they saw each other, but that was rare considering the high school was huge. Dan was walking mindlessly, trying to kill time before class, and when the hallways got too loud he walked down an empty hall (which was very rare). Dan was about to turn around and head to class when he heard a door open, he turned his head to the sound and saw so people walk out the janitorial closet, the girl was buttoning up her shirt and the male was fixing his hair. He didn't recognize the girl, but he recognized the boy.
Phillip Lester. He was sort of popular, he was the guy who everyone could put his face to the name but not popular enough for everyone to follow him constantly. Dan never really had an interest of talking to him. The couple then locked eyes with Dan, he decided this was the most awkward situation of his entire life. The girl sprinted off and didn't look back, Phillip's grey eyes was still staring at Dan, Phil was horrified, and so was Dan. Because Dan noticed Phil looked like he had grey eyes.
"Um.... you won't tell anyone about this will you?" Phillip asked nervously. Dan cocked his head curiously. "I'm not the guy who goes around and doesn't this stuff," Phil rambled. "and I'd hate to be humiliated just because I had sex in the janitors closet one time, so if you could just plea-"
"Okay." Dan cut him off, a bit annoyed at the rambling.
"Wha-"
"I'm not a snitch," Dan stated seriously. "I'm also not stupid. And I also think this wasn't your first time doing this." Dan explained. "However this is one of my business and it most certainly not my life."
"Uh-okay-" Phillip stuttered surprised. "What's your name?"
"Daniel." Dan replied, a second after the warning bell rang for class, they had two minutes.
"Can I call you Dan?" Phil asked.
"Do you know me personally?"
"No."
"I guess not then." Dan replied casually. Phil shrugged his shoulders and were turning around and walking out of this hallway, his hair was still kinda messy. "Phillip," Dan called.
"Phil," he corrected turning around. "And yes?"
"What colour eyes do you have?" Dan asked.
"Can't you see?" Phil asked, his face scrunched up confused.
"Just answer the question."
"Blue." And Phil walked away. This made Dan sad, because he only saw grey, to him, Phil has grey eyes. Dan continued walking to class. And for the rest of the day, Dan could only think of when he went to the doctors as a kid.
"Mom why are we here?" Dan had whined.
"Shush Daniel. And take the test." His mother said.
"Dan," the doctor called. "Tell me colour of these cards."
"Okay." Dan responded. "Red. Green. Yellow. Purple. Grey. Orange. Black. White. Grey."
"Thank you Dan. It seems the problem is quite clear. Dan you have shdjskaklahsshjsks." Dan only her a long word that made no sense. "Which means Dan, you can't see the colour blue. I'm guessing there was a mutation during your DNA replication as a child, considering neither your father nor your mother have the gene."
Dan had no idea what any of that meant, but he remembers his mom crying, and his dad patting his back, and Dan was old enough to know that whatever the doctor said, was bad. But one question would haunt him, 'What does blue look like?'
