"So, might as well skip." Phil shrugged. Dans mouth flew open in awe that Phil would even suggest that.
"Danny, please tell me you've skipped class at least once..." Dan's face started turning red, and ice Phil saw, his eyes nearly popped out of his eye sockets. "Danyul!" Phil nearly scolded.. "It's senior years and you haven't skipped?"

"No." Dan muttered embarrassed.

"Well we better fix that."

"What about your girlfriend." Dan asked bitterly.

"What about her?" Phil shrugged. "I skip, she knows that. I skip with my friends. She knows that." Phil said shortly.

"Okay..."

" 'okay' to skipping?" Phil asked excitedly

"I don't know... you're asking a lot from me..."

"It won't kill you Daniel!" Phil exclaimed. And it was when Phil heard him say that he knew Phil was serious.

"Fine. Whatever." Dan rolled his eyes, a small part of him was excited, but the other part was terrified and full of anxiety.

"Then let's go." And before Dan could even process those words he was grabbed by the arm and they were running. Dan wasn't sure how they didn't get caught, but they didn't. Once they got to Phil's car, it was only a matter of seconds before Dan sat in comfortable leather seat, and that when regret and guilt kicked in. It was gradual at first, but they shot though him like lightning. Dan look at Phil with fear, and Phil saw the fear in his eyes, so he calmed his face and didn't say anything as they left the school. The silence was oddly more comforting then when Dan and Phil started talking, maybe it was being alone for so long, he wasn't sure, but he wanted the silence.

When were you here before,

Dan screamed once this song came on the radio. Creep by Radiohead was one of his absolute favourites, which Phil got from the screen, so he turns it up and rolled the windows down.

"YOU FLOAT LIKE A FEATHER
IN A BEAUTIFUL WORLD.
I WISH I WAS SPECIAL
YOU'RE SO FUCKIN SPECIAL." Dan screamed as he sat on the windowsill of the car. He didn't care, they were on a country road anyway, and this was his favourite song. So he screamed the lyrics and watched roads ahead disappear behind him. The sky was grey, like it was everyday to Dan, but it didn't matter, for the first time, he didn't care about the grey sky.

"BUT I'M A CREEP!
I'M A WEIRDOOOOOOOO!
WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING HERE?
I DONT BELONG HERE!"

Phil heard Dan and rolled down his sun roof (whatever it's called) in his car and watched Dan. Dan looked happy, screaming lyrics and fixing his hair, living like nothing mattered. Phil's done this before, but it was different with Dan. And Dan had never done anything like this before, maybe it was Phil who brought it out of him, or perhaps it was because the author needed something cliche in her story.

Once th sing was over Dan climbed back in, Phil looked over and smiled. "When you did that, what were you thinking?" Phil asked.

"I wasn't. I got excited and felt the rush of adrenaline, and the first thing I thought of I did. It was like cloud nine." Dan explained.

"That's what you should feel everyday." Phil told Dan.

"Really?" Dan asked.

"Yes. Do one thing that scares you, one thing that makes you fell like that, how can you remember your regrets?"

"I guess that's one way to live." Dan commented.

"Yeah. You should try it, for a week."

"Maybe." Dan responded, he wasn't really the honking though, just preserving his event memory, savoring ever second of he cloud none, where nothing mattered. Because now he's come back down from it, and thrown back into reality.
