The girl that pushed me down ran straight into Josh, hugging him tightly. He yelped in surprise at the girl clinging to him.
"Hi, mate!" She excitedly yelled, eyes bright and possessive. His eyes widened as he looked slightly down an her, "mate?" He questioned.
She nodded with a grin, and then turned to look as she realized I was there, picking myself up off if the floor.
"Oh sorry!" She rushed to help me up. "I just got so exited, I've been waiting for this for so long." I could barely hear her, I was too busy thinking about the fact that she was Josh's soulmate. I should've known he'd find her eventually anyways, and better that it be now than if we actually started going out.
"It's fine, I understand." I smiled slightly, and she smiled back. I nodded over at Josh, whose gaze was glazed over in shock and hadn't moved from that spot.
"Oh!" She squeaked and I realized I hadn't gotten a good look at her. She was slightly taller than me, with short, blonde hair and big brown eyes and little freckles dotted over her pale skin. She was really pretty, and I knew Josh would love her.
She sat him down on the couch and sat beside him, talking to him in exited whispers, and I took it a my cue to leave.
I walked out of the doors and into the hallway, going up the stairs and down the corridor into my room, falling face down onto my bed and shifting straight afterwards.
Stretching out my small cat body, I started to think of how things would change now. No more races, no more winks and telling me I'm pretty. I would probably be alone a lot. So I decided to do something more productive than lay here and sulk.
I bounded down the stairs on my short cat legs and raced into the living room, where I saw Josh and that girl sucking faces. I inwardly cringed as I ran passed, and she seemed to notice my presence as she turned to look at my fleeting back. "Oh my goodness, she's a cat?! That's so adorable!" I heard her exclaim as I bolted out of the rather large pet door beside the real door.
It was obvious it was me, because I had the same scent as I did as a human and my eyes were the same color silver. Even my fur was the same color as my hair, a dark, rich black that almost looked dyed.
I'd decided earlier that maybe it was time to start travelling again, and in order for that I probably needed to learn how to hunt, in case i ran out of food. As a cat, I knew it couldn't be impossible but as a human I knew it would be difficult.
I headed into the lush woods behind the inn and instantly smelled a small rodent, and a I neared it I found that it was a rabbit. Crap I thought, out running a rabbit was going to be hard. I crouched down to the ground, keeping my back straight and crawling through the underbrush, but when I was within a yard away, it lifted it's nose, sniffing the air and darting away.
I didn't bother chasing it, I knew it would win anyway. I continued my quest to find prey food and as I neared the middle of the woods. I heard the scampering of a mouse soon and walked towards the sound, smelling the air. I decided to roll in the dirt and stay downwind this time.
I crouched again, stalking towards the mouse, and at last moment pounced.
I pranced proudly through the living room tail and nose up high as I carried the dead mouse in my jaws. Josh and his mate stared in shock and actually gasped, but then he stood up with a grin. "Congratulations, Ayala. Impressive." He stroked my back making it arch and I grinned, eyes shut as he pet me.
His mate, whose name I have yet to know, walked by with wide eyes and stopped before me. "Why would you...?" I stared at her curiously, Ivy seemed offended because she was proud of our catch.
"She's a cat, it's instinct. Plus, if she ever needs to know for some reason, she does now." Ayala nodded along with prideful eyes and he gave her a knowing look before taking his mate to sit back down.
I continued to prance throughout the house, a few other weres, including a rabbit were stopped to congratulate me on my first catch.
I dropped the mouse and shifted, scanning my key card and opening my door, quickly shifting back to grab the mouse and run through my door as it closed behind me. I ate it peacefully in the floor and went to sleep, deciding to clean it up later.Yay, I actually uploaded. For those few who actually looked forward to this chapter thank you ^-^ it means a lot to me (this went by really fast and I'm not so proud of it but it's here!)

How the World Works
WerewolfI think it truly is funny how people always say "you don't love something until it's gone." That really wasn't the case for me. How could you love something or someone after they left you behind? No, I don't love him, even after he left. But maybe I...
