The car ride home is long and uneasy. No one says much. I think we are all just too terrified of what happened earlier that we don't really have any words.

However, we do all agree that it's best for us to go back to the safety of our own homes.

Since I am the one driving, I get the pleasure of driving all over the city to drop them off.

Yay.

I stop at Carson, JJ, and Anna's houses, saying a quick goodnight each time until it's just me and Adam left in the car.

Oh, Lord. Me and an insanely hot German guy stuck in a car together. This will never happen again, so I am freaking out.

Play cool, Cara. Play cool.

"May I?" Adam asks, breaking the silence and picking up his phone and the AUX cord.

"Go for it," I say, nervously.

He smiles and plugs the cord into the bottom of his iPhone. He scrolls up and down for a while before choosing the song "The Fall" by the Native Sibling and turning up the volume.

"Oh my god, I love this song!" I say excitedly.

"Really? I thought I was the only one who knew about it," he smiles.

The wind from the speed of the car blows through my hair, as I drive through the city. I knew this would calm me down.

Unbeknownst to me, I begin to sing along quietly by habit.

"Back in my hometown, left so fast, fell on the ground"

After a few minutes, we reach a stop light, and I shrug back into my seat, letting out a long sigh as the song ends.

I look over to my right a little and see Adam staring at me with a small grin tugging on his lips.

I realize that he's been watching me the whole time, so I let out a nervous laugh as the blood rises to my cheeks.

Ugh.

"Never would have guessed you to be the singing type," he says.

"Probably because I'm really not the singing type," I laugh.

"Well, you should be."

My cheeks turn 5 shades darker than they already were and I feel butterflies all in my stomach, so I look away quickly and bite my lip.

Did he just compliment me?

We drive past skylines of lit up buildings for a few more minutes in silence before his voice interrupts it:

"So, Cara, what do you love most about yourself?"

"What?" I laugh in a questioning manner.

"What do you love about yourself? If we're gonna be stuck in a car together for 30 minutes, we might as well make the most of it, right?" he says.

I sit in silence for a few seconds, my heart beating quickly, because I have no clue what I love about myself.

The silence becomes unbearable as I try to come up with something, but I can't.
