It was hard to tell if I likes the school or not. There were a few teachers who got stuck babysitting the students here because their parents didn't want to see the "disappointment".
"Delilah," Liz started, looking flustered.
"Mhm?" I mumble questionably, I was re-reading the Harry Potter series. I was at the part where Harry finds out that one of his father's old friends was a werewolf and I didn't want to be interrupted.
"Why are you here?" The question was supposed to be simple and I wish I could tell her without her thinking I'm weird and me being uncomfortable.
"I got kicked out of my old school." The lie rolls off my tongue easily. I add a shrug to play it off like no big deal, teenagers get kicked out of school and shipped away all the time. Maybe I should've thought twice about lying to a potential friend, but Morganna and I were grade A liars and had never been caught in one. The hard part was when Liz gave me a look like she understood. She believed me and I gave her no reason not to.
I felt bad for a second before settling back into Harry's confused prospective. Life was easier for me right now to pretend I was preteen wizard boy.
