So, it had been a few months and they had been fantastic. I made many new friends, but I also sprained my ankle on by falling down the stairs. It's okay though, although I couldn't walk for quite a while and I had to limp, Connie and my new friend Diego had helped me get up. Diego was really concerned. It was quite cute.
Today is Thanksgiving. I don't have to go to school in my uniform today, instead, I'm going dressed as a Native American. I threw on a fuzzy chocolate brown dress and nice cream colored shoes. I also tied a ribbon around my head to act as a headband kind of thing, and stuck some feathers in it.
I scarfed down my breakfast to then brush my teeth and brush my hair, and after I swooped my backpack onto my back. My brother got up lazily as I raced outside and hopped into the car. My mom got in and started it up, so we dropped Liam off at the bus stop and then drove me to school. I kissed my mom goodbye, got down, and entered my school.
There was 20 till the bell rang to get to class- wait, that's right! It's thanksgiving and therefore, instead of having class, we will be decorating the school and selling food.
"Idna! Come here you muttonhead!" April called, laughing. I spun around and ran into her arms.
"Hey! Where's Connie and Michelle and Elsa and Martin and Diego and all our group?" She turned around and pointed to our usual sitting place, where all our group of friends gathered during recess. I nodded and followed her over there. They all had such creative and nice clothes on!
The bell finally rang and I headed up to the third floor with Elsa and Connie. Since I had fallen that one time on the stairs where I sprained my ankle, I had access to the elevator, so we went up through there. We entered the 3A classroom and sat down. Everyone had already arrived, and our Biology teacher was sitting at her desk.
Time flew by as some people decorated outside while others stayed inside, chatting with friends. We watched Pocahontas. How original for Thanksgiving.
It was finally recess! I ran outside, grabbed by Connie's hand as I pulled her out with me. We raced down the stairs and reached the first floor. Everyone had their stand set up. My stand was pumpkin and apple pies. I had already done my job of selling the tickets, so I was free. Connie, Elsa and I sat over at our desk with our friends. After chatting a bit with them all, Elsa, Connie, April and I headed out to the field, where some people were dancing. I headed over to sit down next to April, and noticed she was staring at Connie very strangely.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
No answer.
"April? What happened? Why are you looking at her like that?"
"She yelled out one of your secrets," April answered, clearly pissed off and trying to protect me. I stared at her in shock. Connie spun around and her face fell as she saw my face.
"Idna, what happened? Are you okay? She tried to reach out to grab my hand, but I denied her hand.
"Now I know who not to trust," I spat at her, filled with rage.
"What?" She looked at April. "I never said any of her secrets!"
"Yes you did!" She replied
"Did not!"
They kept arguing, but I interrupted them. "I'm not telling you anything anymore!"
Connie's eyes widened. "Wha-?" She looked at me, almost in tears. She got up and ran away.
"Shit. I was too hard on her." I got up to chase after her but she was out of sight.
"No, it was her fault," April said, backing me up.
"Let me look for her. Go with Claudeth or Paulina while I go fix things." She nodded and I headed over to the third floor. As soon as I was about to open the elevator to go down, the doors opened and Connie was standing in it.
"Oh, uh.." she made her way around me, but I grabbed her hand. "Connie, wait!"
She slapped me off of her and told me off, not even looking at me. She ran away, over to in front of the 3A classroom. I sighed and walked over to the stairs and went down. I avoided everyone and everything, but everyone kept telling me Connie was on the third floor crying, and they kept asking me why, since I was her best friend and I should know, but I just would turn around and leave. I sat down on a bench and started crying myself, until Ana and Sofia headed over.
"Idna? Oh my god, what happened?" Sofia asked as she bent down. Ana sat by my side, rubbing my shoulder softly. I could see a guy from my classroom, George, glancing at me every once and a while. He looked... worried?
I told my friends I wanted to be alone, and they understood. As soon as they left, George tried to head over to me, but his friend Fernando wouldn't leave him alone, and he ended up sitting back down.
So yeah, my day was hell.
