As I watched him mend with the shadows, I couldn't help but be curious.
Dean. That was his name, now I knew why he seemed so familiar. I went down stairs, mom still wasn't home so I wasn't worried. I went over to a cabinet which held all my school stuff, including my yearbooks. I looked at my last year book from last year, and found Dean's picture. With his hoodie I wasn't really able to see his face but I knew it was him tonight at the window.
The more I looked at his yearbook picture, the more I thought how attractive he was. Wait, what? I can't be thinking this, I have a boyfriend, or had a boyfriend. What was that nickname he called me by? Alexandra the great? And what did he mean by he wasn't just anybody? Ugh, I couldn't deal with this. At least not right now, I put the yearbook back and saw my cheerleading uniform was among the things in the cabinet. I took it out and just examined it. It felt so weird, I'm not the same person I was. I never really liked cheerleading, I just did it cause I thought it would be fun. It was but then it became this thing were I had to be popular. I liked the attention don't get me wrong but not all the time. I made my way up the stairs, and thought I should try get some sleep.
Alexandra the Great? The name keeps popping into my head, but I couldn't place it. Eventually I went to sleep, and tonight I did have nightmares but not the same I have had in the past. He was there, in the woods. Dean was there and he just kept telling me to hold on.
"Hold on, Alex. Come on Alexandra the great, you can't be defeated by this."
He just kept saying that over and over again. And then everything went black and then white. I woke up and realized the window was open along with the curtains. I really wasn't a morning person. I got up and close the window but then I realized I know I closed the window and the curtains. I looked around until my eyes landed on him.
"Dean, what the hell! You can't just sneak into someone's bedroom. Especially after I die-.."I stoped my self from the last part.
"Are you coming back" He just said.
"come back? Come back where?" I said confused
"To school, Alex"
"Lex, not Alex or Alexandra or Alexandra the great just lex."
"Always with the sass, babe."
I ignored the babe comment, I was not going to read into it.
"Look dean, I don't know. How can I come back to school, how can I explain how I'm not dead? Or how to explain how I went missing?"
"Just tell the truth, luv"
Luv, again with the names and yet again I ignore it.
"I don't know, ill think about it. Dean what the hell why did you climb up to my window again? You can't do that."
As if on cue, he got up and walked over to the window but before he left I stepped in front of him blocking the window.
he just sighed and said," I don't know, Alex. You always make me do unpredictable things. See you later, babe."
And with that, he just left. I just stood there, stunned. After a moment I saw my phone on my desk and decided to text my mom. It was already 9 and mom would be at work.
My mom had returned my phone to be the second day, since the day I went missing I had gotten my phone taken away by my teacher.
LEX:Hey, mom?
MOM: Yes? Are you okay?
LEX: Yes of course, I was just wondering if me going back to school is a possibility?
MOM: I didn't think you would want to go back, are you sure you want to?
LEX: Yes mom, I want to go back to school. Make my life semi normal again.
MOM: Okay sweetie, if thats what you want.
LEX: thanks mom :)
MOM: No problem honey.
With that, I just realized what I did. Im going back to school, and I will have to face everyone and their questions. Oh Dean, what did you get me into.
